Can anyone tell me how to block my caller ID on this. Other than this its a great phone. But beware - you can only use one playlist on your MP3 player. If you put different folders with albums on it - you have to press to the next song every time a track is finished. Its a bit ridiculous.

I have lg KE970. After few nokia phones its poor. Look nice and this is the end.

2kim: I thought that would have been obvious, as when you have the phone on silent it is so that you do not disturb anyone, i.e. at college etc and if the alarm went off then the phone would not be fully silent would it? The main thing is the alarm goes off in Loud mode and even vibrates in vibrate mode.

2colette/dont/like/lg: Why is it rubbish? You cannot just say do not get this phone without a valid reason. I do not think it's rubbish there are quite a few phones on the market that are rubbish *cough* V3 *cough* but the LG shine is not one of these.

I like the LG shine but theres a coulpe of flaws. When the phone is on silent, te alarm doesent go off.

I don't mean to be biased but there's still nothing to capture my heart with these new cell phones. After checking out the LG KE970 review and viewing the photos taken with the camera, I have to say my Nokia 6230 does a better job at taking photos with it's VGA camera. If you saw my photos you wouldn't believe they were taken with a VGA camera. In addition to that, this new release from LG still doesn't have anything over my Nokia 6230...the Nokia 6230 has everything and is still a pioneer for multimedia phones!!!

This is a 2G phone not a 3G phone so no it wont work on the Three network.
As to the stupid comment about it should be 3G for the price, you get what you pay for.
The 3G version is the KU970 and is apparently available now according to http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_ku970_shine-1912.php

2 hater dater mater : You think the LG chocolate is great, well i've got bad news for you people have been having the same amount of problems with that phone as the motorola V3, the LG chocolates touch sensitive pad will overheat and render it useless, so you can stick to that phone with a limited life if you want, why do you think the LG shine has no touch pad at all? The LG shine looks great and performs great, the camera is brilliant, yes it does seem a girly phone but with a screen mirror what do you expect. Ok it has no amazing features apart from the MP3 player with one button access. My brother and dad have the Samsung D600e and boy am i glad i got the shine, their camera is not much better than a VGA camera and they have no MP3 button. The shine is built for music lovers and its quirky scroll button i love. It takes only a couple of hours to get the battery fully charged after it's flat. Personally i think LG is getting better at phone design, it's a great sturdy phone and i love it!

This phone is absolutely beautifull, just like every other LG phone. We are getting used to their good looks.
Take a look for instance at the Chocolate. this phone is astoundingly amazing. It's design and the variety in colors.
But, when we look at it's functions, well, that's just dissapointing. Every LG phone is fixed on good looks but not on practical use and that is a major flaw in LGs' design.
So consider this next time you want to buy this phone.

omg! this fone is awful! dont buy it! u will so regret it lyk me!
ok lg hve bin excellent at designing phones from the chocolate to prada! beautiful full stop but this fone is gorgeous but ewww! there is nothing except lookz!
im gonna stick to my lg pink choccy as it is a full stop beauty!
plz take this serious!

It has offline mode as in flight mode. As to putting the password, I don't think so. I didn't come across such feature in the one I have.
