Got this phone on upgrade from mobile provider. Seemed okay at first, but then about five minutes after I switched it on, signal would go, and could only get Emergency Calls Only, which is no good to me whatsoever as I need to be able to be contacted by family in emergencies. Also texts were taking for ever to come through, probably due to no signal mind you. Contacted mobile provider, explained the issue, and as I said I was not happy with the phone, a doorstep swap has been arranged for this week but not to the same phone as they are out of stock and not getting them back in.
Would I have another LG Mobile phone? Going by this experience I don't think so, I will probably stick to Nokia or Samsung for any future upgrades.

To the person who asks weather this phone plays music. Oh come seriously all phones can play music these days just look at the specs. Im thinking of getting one of these on my O2 pre pay number. My question is what is the signal quality like. I have had one or 2 LG phones before some have been great others not.

Does anyone of you had a problem with shaky keypad? Poorly fitted slider mechanism? (new phone)

I had the same experience, if I was typing an SMS, if another SMS comes in, it hangs when i click the 'View' button...
Other than that, the phone is pretty good in everything else.. the touchscreen was responsive enough too..

Hey, I just got this phone as well and for the most part it's a pretty funky alternative to the iPhone which I'm over now and after hearing about all the NON-functionality it has.
Anyway, I've got some queries/bugs(?) that I've seen and wondering if anyone else has seen or if it just needs a firmware update (not that one exists on the LG site).
I hope you other owners can shed some light on:-
A) When I add recipients to an sms you can't delete a recipient once you've chosen it. I accidentally added an incorrect contact and all I could do was get options to just keep adding new recipients even in edit mode. Touch-screen didn't allow editing of the field or any other delete options (other than cleaning up recently used numbers)
B) Has anyone noticed a limited SMS Alert message time? I have a tone that goes for about 30 seconds, but when I get an sms it only goes for 5 seconds then stops, plays normally in the media player (it's an AMR file btw). Can't see any options that would truncate the message...
C) Probably more a generic query, but previously had a Nokia 7390 and between Nokia PC Suite and LG PC suite, managed to import Contacts, Todo and Calendar to and then from Outlook, but wondering if there's anyway to get your sms messages (inbox, sent items) across? In the pc suites I see they both use .vmg files, and they can be copied to your PC, but no real allocated folder to copy them to on the phone (even using the "physical" folder on the PC that LG PC Suite looks at to synch with phone didn't recognise the Nokia files)

After about 2 months from my last comment, I notice that the phone will crash once in a while right after you end a call. It doesn't always crash while texting and receiving a incoming text. The reception is mediocre, doesn't work well in elevators. I had a Sony Ericsson last year and never had the issue. Question, what type of battery did your phone come with? Mine came with a Lithium Ion 3.7 900mAh. Probablly the reason why the battery life's crap.
In reply to the person wanting to know the price, I paid $210 US dollars for it back in June of 2008 so.... go figure. By the way, here's a secret that not a lot of people know. When you open a contract with T-Mobile in the USA, ask the person, how much rebate do you get. If he says none, time to go somewhere else. =)

I found this out as I was charging it up for the very first time. Wasn't too happy, but it's a great phone so I guess it doesn't bother me too much to have to reboot it every now and then.

i saw these couple comments that saying the phone freezes when u are writing a txt, and receive a message while u are writing the txt. i only saw couple ppl saying that, but i was wondering if all other consumers would say samething. does it really freeze everytime u recieve a message while u are typing a txt?
