Really awesome phone. I had it in hands, and it's really a "bling bling" phone. Relly pimpish and stylish. A must have for every fashion addict. The design and fiber glass is so unique...

@Arkk
Wait till some of the US sites get this one Factory unlocked for sale. I had good experience with plemix.com. They are fast.
@PhiDuong
Your taste might vary, but please don't abuse Samsung e900 by saying "Ugly".Thats the sleekest slider I came accross with till date.And Im sure most of the peopel will agree with me.

The screen size isnt a big issue. The handset is rather small and the screen size is quite adequate for it. Its a compromise i'm willing to make for this beauty!

Carphonewarehouse gave out wrong info on its site. The screen is definitely 176x220 pixels (no down grading).

Got the phone this morning. Fantastic phone. Slide mechanism and touh-pad keys are amazing. Its quite simple to text. Camera is very good but cannot zoom on 1280x960 which is silly but you can zoom 2x on the 640x480 zoom. Zoom 4x on video which is quite good.
The selection of tones is good and volume is considerably loud. I tried putting some images via my old 6680 via bluetooth but some images are not recognised (even though they're Jpegs). Some jpegs do work. I have to convert the jpgs that dont xfer into gif to get them on the handset.
Another annoying thing is that there is a large digi clock at the bottom that cannot be removed or changed!
Despite these few annoyances the phone works beautifully and has been stared at by many ppl at uni today. Will read manual and check out software cd tonight.

I saw the spec on carphonewarehouse, they say the screen is 240x320 pixels!!
Is the phone really a 240x320 or down graded 176x220 pixels?
or is carphonewarehouse given out wrong info??

Hi there- i believe the screen is 176 x 220 pixels- a downgrade from its korean original, much like the removal of the memory slot and downgrade to 128mb intrenal memory..obviously they think people in the u.k are less interested in more advanced phones..they really couldnt be more wrong- these cost saving measures could be the reason for LG selling way less kg800 handsets than they could. But i guess time will tell!

right, i've just bought this phone in the U.K, so here is a small review.
The GSM phone has bluetooth, and 128 mb internal memory with no card slot. It is a really nice handset to look at, the touch sensitive buttons work really well, but after having it only 2 days i've noticed some niggling issues with it:
firstly, you cannot set your own choice of text message tone. this wouldnt bother me normally, but the message tone is VERY quiet- so quiet that i can barely hear it in a silent room. Not great.
Also, the manual is badly written, and not in clear english; overly complicated i guess is the best way of describing it. The bundled software is good, and allows very easy manipulation of photos and ringtones for adding to the phone in the correct format. However you MUST turn on the phone 'modem' in 'connectivity' in the phone menu, which allows the phone to be accessed by the software, otherwise when you connect the usb cable it acts as a usb drive to hold various files and will not recognise the phone- this is unclear and not in the help txt file bundled with the software!
Another issue is the power of the loudspeaker- call quality is good, but the loudness of the ringtones and mp3 through the speaker is relatively poor and tinny in relation to my old samsung d500. Also there is no speaker phone as far as i am aware- this is poor.
The screen is excellent quality, however it struggles in daylight conditions, but is generally excellent.
The packaging for this phone is really nice. It comes in a long black box, the phone comes with a velvet style case, a very good black remote control with mp3 buttons and call connect buttons(with unversal jack for your own headphones- which is good, because the bundled ones are huge and look horrible) and it comes with a phone charm to hang from the phone which also has a cleaning surface.
The phone is extremely light (84 grams) and the battery appears to be be relatively good for such a small phone, But considerig you can get the sony ericsson w810i with all of its extra features (card slot, 2mp camera) on the same deal on o2 (from the carphone warehouse) it makes the LG a better looking choice, but unfortuanely a far from perfect handset in terms of features- if it comes out in white and pink as in korea i'm sure this will be very popular with the fashion concious, but for those who want more from their phone this does fall short. But it still kicks the hell out of the awful motorola v3 (and all its other versions), is very small and slim, and if there was justice should become the fashion phone of choice.

They named it "Chocolate" not because of it's dark color. It's the alternate shades of the key-pad which resembles chocolate.

i was wondering...why is it called 'chocolate' when every single photo i have seen of it (including the korean version) the phone is clearly black, not brown. or is the brown incredibly dark?
also, i can only see it as available on o2 in england. anyone know when it will be available on the other networks (particularly t-mobile)?

Ptang:
I'm assuming you've played around with the phone.
Is the screen size actually smaller than the korean version? Is there a memory card slot? How does the screen resolution look?
Also, how does it compare to the nokia 8800?
Many thanks!

I wish it has the option to change the light color to Blue as well.
Even the dark pink has the red light, can you believe it.
