If you are wondering if this phone is the right one for you or perhaps you just need convincing then I would read the opinions on various phones from different manufacturers.
Take the time to note all the faults highlighted by people who actualy own the phone. Ignore any that admit to never owning the phone. List these faults seperately to comments and operating queries. Compare that with say a Sony Erricson where people general write in trying to find out how to make the phone do a particular function. Having got your list of faults for each phone you can make an informed decision. You decide if you want a nice looking phone(The LG Chocolate)or something else that may be more reliable.

I've had this phone since november 2006.
I have to say at first i liked it and it is a very stylish phone.
But it does have a few faults.
The main one being the battery life.
I for one use my phone all the time.
An after a day i have to charge it every night.
Second is the memory.
It doesn't hold alot on the phone and there is no where for a memory card.
Third is the ringing tone is very quiet.
Even though its on the highest volume.
Fourth is now after the 11months i have had it, it keeps turning it's self of half way through writing a text messages and during phone calls.
Apart from that it is a good looking phone but wouldn't advise anyone to get it if you use it for music, talking / texting alot.

Well I've had this phone for about a month now n the only thing I like about the phone is that it's stylish. I have to charge the battery almost everyday.. even with limited usage. The ring tone is low, even when it is on max, also the message alert tone is low. N wats up with u not being able to personalize ur message alert tone. Whats up with that? I have other issues with the phone, but u know one thing I'm happy about is that I didn't purchase this phone.

ive had this phone since feb 06.
- battery life is very short (need to charge every day or 2 days, depending how often i use it, which isn't often at all)
- ring volume is very soft
- message alert tone is even softer, even on max
- you can't add numbers to existing contacts (it replaces over the number already in there)
- the sms functions/buttons aren't that good
- can't add your own message alert tones
- but there is one good thing about it (it looks great)

The phone is pretty good but the only thing I'm worried about right now is that I don't hear the ringtones I set to the caller group, instead I hear the one put in my profile. If there's a solution to this problem, then I would say this phone is pretty good.

I had this phone since 1st week of August, it was brand new, and two days ago, the phone hang up, then i waited for about 10minutes, and it is still not responding so I removed the battery, place it again...and its not working anymore, even I charged it...it is still not reponding or opens..I really don't know what to do..since here in the Phillipines there are few distributors of LG phones...and few who repairs of course..
The phone seldom hang up like once in a week...all i do is remove and put back the battery..but now it did not opened...hai...
i hope it does have a reset button like PDAs or easy to repair like Nokia...im so sad...i dont have money right now to buy a new phone...

I don't have this phone, I have an LG CU500. But to your question about LG phones in general....my LG is the best phone I've ever had (I think this is my 5th phone).

I have just read through 3 pages of posts.
The common faults are: battery, keypad, and display. Having been caught out by this one the best advice I can give is to try to get your money back. That will fail because LG are not going to admit that they have a problem. Don't send it off for repair even if it is in warranty because the repairers will only come up with some lame excuse to exclude it from warranty repair, they will want about £18 from you even if it's just to send your phone back. Don't claim on your insurance because you will have to pay them an extra £50 to get another LG chocolate that's just as useless. So your next move is to accept the loss, throw it in the bin or sell it as faulty on e-bay for spares/repairs. Then get a different phone from ANY another manufacturer(even Alcatel). As you can guess, I am bitter and twisted and so so ANGRY.

Nice phone but I wouldn't call it chocolate, something else that is brown and sticky(not a stick) would be more appropriatte. I had this phone on the Vodafone network for about 5 months. Compared to other phones that I have had on the same network the reception is very poor(yes, I do live in the back of beyond). I have been told that some phones have signal boosters. If that's true, then perhaps this doesn't have one. Recently the keypad stopped working along with the display. Sent it off for repair and was told it was due to water damage. That was a bit of a surprise because it's never been used in wet conditions or dropped in water. Repairers say that condensation is enough to cause the condition. Insurance only want to replace it with the same so I called it a day and bought a Sony Ericsson.

Hi,
I'd just like to say that I think this phone is awesome!! Well, I don't actually own this phone.. but I've heard on the grape vine that it's real noice!!
What is with the people saying that they don't get enough signal? Um, hello? I don't think a $200 phone won't give you any signal? Maybe you live out in the middle of nowhere or in an unknown surburb without a Telstra Ariele?
And what the HELL is with the people saying that they can't hear through the thing?!! HELLOOOO, people!!! DON'T YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR EAR HOLES ARE?!! Once again, as if a $200 PHONE (YES, a phone, a thing u can TALK TO PEOPLE THROUGH) WOULDN'T LET YOU HEAR YOUR CONTACT?!!!! Once again, perhaps it's coz you live out in the scrub? && you also talk into the bottom part of the phone.. I mean to say, I have a crap phone at the moment, and one of my mates has a $60 phone, and they can hear me when I talk to them through the thing! And they can get signal.. even when they're driving out in the middle of nowhere. (True story...)
Okay, I just had to say that coz I think those people need to either treat their phones a bit better, or don't buy a phone off E-Bay or from the Kwik-E Mart or some crap store. And maybe they should learn where their ears are and how to use the thing. =]
Bye everyone, xx.

I need a phone that has all the features eg.internet, bluetooth, usb connection, enough space. so if this phone is not a good phone pls feel free to give suggestions on one that is but not too expansive

I bought this phone in Decemebr 2006 and I am about to hand in my FOURTH one due to contining issues with it. This phone is useless and unless you want a fashion item (which most phones are these days) forget this phone. There are reportedly software issues and issues with the slider mechanisim of this phone but LG don't want to recall it.
Suffice to say, I am changing it now for a phone that actually works!
