im not really liking the gold on the Choc II. if it were silver then i would be all over it, but the gold is kinda ugly.

I was thinking of getting this phone since it looks so stylish and sleek i cant think of a better looking phone out at the moment. Only thing is with all the hot weather we been getting lately i'm a bit concerned with it being a chocolate phone. Does this phone melt in your hands in the hot weather?

To number 3 its not a chick phone its definately unisex in the LG chocolate advert on TV it shows a man using it.

the keypad does light up. go to power saving under settings..and choose power save OFF. if you choose power save ON the keypad light switches off.

there is no snooze for the alarm!

does anyone know if Cell Info Display can be turned off? this is the display which tells you wat suburb u are in.

Had my chocolate now for about 12 hours so far so good, excellent looks and very usable, slightly over sensitive but then ive had a knackered 6230 for the last year, my major disapointment is that is seems to be classed as a chick phone and as a bloke this concerns me. The keys on the side are a faff and the pc sych software is a complete waste of time but its a good 8/10 phone and I like it!!

I recently upgraded from a Samsung E730...it was very hard for me to part with as i absolutely adored this phone...however I have to say that after having the LG Chocolate for a week I am in love with it. The touch pad is extremely easy to use, anyone with an Ipod will say the same due to the sensitivity of the touchpad for it. I did find that the LG KG800 is lacking in one area and that is the SPEAKERPHONE setting. I was upset that it didnt have it but then again what do u really need it for. I cant wait to see what it looks like in White (to be released in Asia - October 2006) and in Clamshell and Black Label. If you are thinking of buying one go for it. I havent had any problems sending pictures or MP3's to it and synching it with your PC is easy as 1 2 3... maybe we will also get a strawberry LG KG800..

                      Plus - Great design.

Negative - Numeric keypad without backlit, Over-Sensitive touch screen. No expansion slot for memory, 1.3MP camera.

The LG Chocolate 2 makes the KG800 look completely outdated.

I'm VERY interested in buying this phone:

                              1. Is it available on PAYG or just contract?
                              2. Are the touch sensitive controls a mither?
                              3. Can you recieve Videos/Pictures through SMS
                              4. Does the Bluetooth class work with other mobile phones?
                              5. Can you pick your ringtone?
                              6. Are you able to change the volume on the message alert?
                              7. Do the "TSC" react with any other objects , other than your fingers?

Thankyou , for you replies in advance ...

I just got my LG phone today.

I couldn't decide between the Samsung E900 and LG Chocolate, in the end I got the LG cos the E900 was out of stock.

What can I say? Im a tiny bit disappointed, thinking of waiting and exchanging it for a E900. But I'm not sure, I need to have a play around with the E900 before I decide.

The chocolate is a cute phone, it's slim and compact. It looks good. However I'm disappointed in some of the features.

                                1. The MP3 player is really annoying me. The volume is too loud, even when set to the lowest setting. It's ironic as in the instructions it tells you not to play the music too loud cos it's bad for your hearing and dangerous when crossing the street. Grrr. I've got an ipod, so it's no big deal that the mp3 player on the LG chocolate isn't all that great. But still, it's the principle of things...I want to make use of the mp3 player on the phone.

                                2. There isn't a stop watch or count down timer. I know this is something minor, but I'm use to Nokia and Samsung phones with this functionality...you never know when you need a stop watch! Like timing my cooking or something.

As for the touch screen, I was a bit concerned as I read many reviews about it being difficult to use. I have no problems with that and find it very easy to navigate, it didn't take long to get used to it.

Apart from my 2 gripes about the functionality, I'm happy with the phone. If I was to go for looks, I would stick with the LG. Afterall, it's only a phone. But the mp3 player is really bugging me. I am a perfectionist :p

The phone is a big disappointment.
Don't be fooled by the sleek look. I was a Nokia 6230 user and I thought it was time to move on. I had all my contacts copied to Outlook using the amazing Nokia PC Suite. I connected the chocolate phone to the PC and it took me several installations to actually have the computer recognize the phone.
I installed the LG PC Sync and the LG Contents Bank- much to my shock the application is a total failure. You can't copy your contacts from or to it. You can read the contacts off your phone. It was a hassle.
I finally had to move my contacts using bluetooth from my computer to the phone.
The manual is poorly written. I had to rely on the internet and forums to actually get the right information (i.e. the security code- by the way it's 0000)

With each contact you can only save one mobile number, one office, one home and one fax. You can't alter the types. What do you do if you have a friend who has 2 mobile numbers?
so i tried to act smart and saved the mobile numbers under the office and home types. Another shocker, you can't sms those numbers cuz they're not mobile phones.

You can't receive video mms- like hello!

if you dialled a number on your screen and discovered that you missed a digit then you can move between the numbers to add it. You should clear it and type it all over again.
Example say i wanted to call 1234567 and I by mistake pressed 123567 missing out on number 4- I wouln't be able to enter it by moving the curser to it- the only way to deal is to clear 567. That's ridiculous if you ask me!

Okay say you received a number on your sms and you want to add it to an existing contact- surprise surprise you can't! it will replace the existing number with the new one.

You can't snooze the alarm clock!

The camera is only 1 MP

If you are trying to listen to .amr file then you are limited to 100 kb only.

you can't send business cards through sms. You can only do it using bluetooth

If you are used to typing real fast then you will hate the key pads. It can't keep up with my fast clicks. It loses some of the letters while you're typing.

There are many other disappointments but I think I covered most of them.

I love the size of the phone- and it's amazing sleek look, but when it comes to functionality, its personally not my cup of tea. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

1)Heat sensitive touchpad reacts only to heat that is coming from fingers, com'on people..!!not on sunlights, not if you stick them with a pen or whatever..how come questions like this even get in mind, when everything is written on LG web page and is told everywhere by LG representatives...
2)if you need to get pictures and videos from other phones just use bluetooth or drop it on PC and then sync it to mobile
