I'm here to the rescue.
First off - if you cant get the phone to recognize the cingular network:
Go into settings, connectivity, network, band selection.
Choose PCS
This should light the phone up on cingular.
If you are getting poor connectivity, that is because this phone doesn't work on the 850mhz band. It operates on the 1900mhz band for cingular, which is worse. But still usable. Basically you may experience shoddy reception and straight to voicemail issues when you are in buildings. Outside its perfect.
Copying files to the phone:
- Install the software/driver
- *before you plug it in* go to: settings, connectivity, removeable disk: enter 0000 then chose data transfer, wiat a few seconds then plug in the data cable, your pc will recognize the phone as a USB drive, except the defaults for the driver installation
- then just open the drive like a normal usb drives, and copy movies, sounds, and pics to the appropriate folder.
- make sure when you are done to safely remove the device from teh pc, then hit exit and unplug
Setting up MMS took me about 4 hours to figure out, so if you need that walkthrough just e-mail me. If you have any other questions you can e-mail me too, and i'll try to answer.

Through some random act and calling Rogers yet another time the phone is now working on their network. Using the PCS band(1900), which I had tried many times earlier they were able to allow access.
My new issue is actually getting the phone to charge. Plugging in the travel adapter (Model STA-P51RD) with the North American plug attachment does nothing. There is no indication of charging for the past two hours, the phone is still Out of Battery and will not turn on. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Sirc, I talked to someone on the Cingular user forum and found out that in my area I need a phone that is GSM 850 compatible and this phone is NOT. However, I just heard back from the eBay seller I purchased it from and he will be issuing me a refund. I would check to see what GSM setting is required for Rogers in your area and mess around with the Band settings some. I was messing with the Band settings and actually was able to connect to the T-Mobile network with my girlfriend's T-Mobile SIM. Hope you get it working!!

Like David_LM I am having the same problem except my carrier is Rogers AT&T in Canada. The phone is unlocked and I did manage to connect manually to the Rogers network by chance and I made several test calls, however once I turned the phone off and on I am no longer able to automatically or manually connect to the Rogers network. When I called them they were able to see the phone but were unsure how to connect it. Another representative says the phone is just not compatible with their network, but if it wasn't then how would I have been able to make calls? I am going to try another SIM card on the Rogers network see if that perhaps is my problem, but I am guessing it may not be. I am hoping that I don't have a $400 paper weight now.
I see that there are a few people with this problem and I am wondering if any of them have found a solution?

I got the phone last week and it's a great looking phone. I'm a bit out of touch with technology recently and can not work out how to load music onto the phone. I've managed to load music onto my MP3 Player before but am having no luck doing the same onto my LG KG810 mobile. I should probably read the manual more. Also did anyone have any luck using the software disc that comes with the phone, my computer was warning me about loading it onto my computer, although i still did.
Cheers!

bob, the phone I have is fully unlocked and unbranded. I have called Cingular customer support, gone to an official Cingular store and have gone to another cell phone store and none of them can help; they all say that my phone is defective. I put in my girlfriend's T-Mobile SIM card and the same thing, nothing. If any of you are using this phone with Cingular please let me know how I can get mine working!! The eBay seller I purchased it from (cellz4less) is not responding to me and I'm afraid I may have lost my $220!! Please help!!

HELP !!
I just received this phone today, popped in my Cingular SIM card and ... NOTHING!! It doesn't automatically detect my Cingular network and when I do a manual detection it says "Fail". Cingular is the #2 network on the "Preferred" list of networks so it SHOULD work. If anyone has Cingular and uses this phone or knows of how to fix this problem I would love your assistance!!
Please e-mail: kpxguy411@hotmail.com
THANKS!!

I love it. It's so easy to use its great. I love the coloured nubers for dialling, they're awsom. If it had a flash and loud spaker also more theme colours that would just top it off, but it's definatelty worth the money as is. I'm a big fan of LG phones, they're great.
