ned, 18 Aug 2009elle....how do you put a password for the text msg? pls sha... morenot only messages can be lock up.. also write new message, message box, contacts, recent history, gallery like the images/videos/ flash (note: only the internal memory can be lock), and sound etc.. to activate this in you phone settings>security then application lock.. (the default code in 0000 ).. hope that can help.. cheers

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I'm afraid there is no way to set a PIN code to lock your phone. However, there is a way of setting your phone to ask for the security code after unlocking. You should go to "phone settings" and then "security settings" and then "handset lock" and then toggle on "Immediately". The phone will ask for your security code and then lock. If you unlock it, it will then aske for your security code. This is not permanent though. The security code request will only be activated if you do the procedure above.

sue, 16 Aug 2009i am disappointed with the LG arena, only had it months bee... moreIt's the worst phone I ever own. I have it for few months myself, and I got the same problems, and now I lost all the pictures, the sounds, the camera doesn’t work, the email don't work, it turns off by itself. I have to carry a second phone always with me, I have too many things wrong. It's a nightmare. Don't buy the cr...p, get yourself a real phone and be happy.

Hi everybody, Can you please let me know how can I lock my phone using PIN code(KM900) like iPhone? (ie). When I press unlock button it should ask pincode for unlock? Thanks.

ok nevermind elle...i figured it out..i dont have the manual, that is why i asked...but i figured it out.. emails, text and contacts are securely locked-up,,,,,thanks.

kate, 16 Aug 2009is there a password for your messages and things?yup! you can choose to lock differnt applications, like for example: you can set a password prompt to appear every time someone tries to access your messages.

i'm getting this phone SOON. SO excited, it looks amazing. it was between this and the iphone but i think this one's a bit more interesting and not lacking so many features. eg. camera on the iphone is SHIT and there are still bugs on the software. i hope lg doesn't fail me this time. both my other lg phones have broken but i'm giving it one last chance with an expensive phone.

just to make things a bit clearer....
i've heard ppl asking why the dolby mobile on the arena isn't loud. ans: the dolby mobile is just a sound enhancer or better a filter. it's not meant to increase the volume level rather to improve sound quality.
get a good earphone or external speakers then you'll appreciate the quality. hope that helps :)

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2009Ive heard that the touchscreen lags when texting... I write... moretexing wise on alphanumeric keypad on the arena is a breeze(totally sensitive), same goes for the qwerty. but for ppl with large fingers, using the qwerty is a nightmare(small keys).
arena is capacitive and samsung jet is resistive. i've learnt my lessons from resistive screens using nokia 5800(changed the lcd twice in 4 months). i wouldn't recommend resistive screens for whatever reason(IMO).
