I am using Vista BASIC for my laptop... no problems installing and using LG PC suite III. i guess we have different issues...my issue is the phone itself. First, i have an R icon on the screen, which the tech people from my network phone provider says its because the Arena i have was bought in HK and was program for asia. however, no problems with the functions, and i made sure im not in a roaming account at the end of the month, luckily thr R icon is just there like a sore thumb and nothing else. love the Arena, altho slow, lags but perfect for divx music vids.

Ok... so most people here think LG Arena is pretty cool, but could've maaaabye be better. But some of you guys are saying it's totally bugged and the store people have no idea what's going on. So, as a vote, (now comes the grand question-)

I have the same problem with Vista I can use and load the PC suite cd that was part of the package, but I cannot update this to the newer version, also I cannot load the updater tool from the LG website and therfore cannot update the firmware. I have spoke to T-Mobile and LG and both of them have told me they also can't load the software on their Vista machines!!
If you manage to fix this for Vista please let us know the procedure it would be most appreciated. Good Luck !!

DB, 09 Aug 2009The arena is not an easy phone to use... poor s/ware with l... moreI agree that the LG KM900 is not an easy to use phone.I bought a unit because it is cheaper than the iPhone and it looks very promising with the multi-touch feature similar to the iPhone. Also, I was struck with the way the GUI was presented in the ads.
However, I found that I lost a couple of dollars when I fanally got a unit because it is not as promising as the iPhone after all. The operating system does not support most of the software that I needed such as nimbuzz for messaging, and the ease of configuring gmail IMAP access compared to my E71. Worst, it can't play DIVX movies as indicated in the ads. So, I end up trashing the expensive KM900 against my beloved Nokia E71. The E71 is useable right out of the box in terms of Gmail IMAP account ease of configuration (meaning I don't have to dig into thousands of pages), NIMBUZZ software compatibility, and it plays DIVX with just a simple download of DIVX player from the unit itself.
Well, in fairness, the picture quality is good. But the phone is not designed to be more of a camera, but a phone. Answering a call, and hanging the call is really a pain.
However, I am not closing my doors, and still waiting for the manufacturer to provided solutions and more informations on how we can enjoy using the LG KM900 as promised.

I'd like to say the only problem with this phone is the still in developmente software. Now updated it comes with Tag-it than recognize music with a sample of 7 seconds and my radio has RDS.
Maybe the existence different models is a problem to... KM900F, KM900AT and an entire diffent I have saw in youtube as just for Korea.

If you decide to get the Arena, maybe the price would have fallen a bit by then :) and the Jet is totally awesome, i think. it's the one other phone i would trade my Arena for :))

The arena is not an easy phone to use... poor s/ware with lots of bugs. Documentation and support from LG is poor /non-existant. Upgrading firmware is not easy. The Arena cannot be compared in anyway to an Iphone.

By the way, can anyone from this site (gsmarena), LG or others who using LG Arena could tell me why is that not all of the things installed on LG Arena will turned landscape when the phone is in landscape mode. the only things that rotate is the music player the pictures, internet browser and the menu selection. rather than that it won't rotate to landscape mode. like when i have install a touch java games it doesn't rotate to landscape mode. all of my 5800 content are turning landscape when the phone is in landscape mode. why this arena not?
is anyone can tell me why????

MyArena, 09 Aug 2009I had experienced the same for my first installation of LG ... morei already try what you have said before i have post my comments here but luckily it won't work. i am using 32-bit vista on my laptop and windows XP SP3 on my pc but it doesn't work. i am a computer programer so i have done the way i know to connect the unit. i have already downloaded the v.3.2 pc suite of the unit since the intallation cd that comes on the box is v.1.
after i've downloaded the version 3.2 (which they call LG PC Suite III)the error is still the same that suppose to be when the unit is connected to the computer the autorun popup will appear and when you click the run suppose to be the pc suite will run automatically but it says the driver of the device is not found. so i have close all of it then restart the pc and run manually the pc suite then manually search the connected device but it doesn't locate it. so i've try to connect the device tru bluetooth and after several connection it connects. so i'd try again the connection tru usb and turn off the bluetooth on both the unit and the pc. i've manually cennect again the unit via usb but the same error is still popup. so what is wrong with it? does LG knows this thing when they created this device?
or maybe when they started working to this unit they eleminate the usb connection or they remove such features to this unit.

alfred, 08 Aug 2009the pc suite of the LG Arena is not compatible with OS high... moreI had experienced the same for my first installation of LG PC Suite using the CD included in the pack. But now it working in my Windows XP SP3 after I figure out a solution to get rid of this PC Suite connectivity issue. Maybe you could try my below advise:
1) DON'T install the PC Suite using the disc included in the pack.
2) Uninstall your malfunction PC Suite from your PC.
3) Restart your PC.
4) Connect your Arena to the PC's USB port using the USB connection cable.
5) Now the installation screen will prompt you to install the PC Suite program.
6) Downloading the PC Suite FROM THE WEBSITE.
7) After the installation of the PC Suite completed. If possible, please try to remove the "LG Bluetooth Connection" in your PC's "Add & Remove Program". This is because of the annoying error message "Bluetooth Connection Error" will always pop up in your screen whenever you access the PC Suite program if there is no bluetooth devise in your PC.
8) Now you can enjoying to transfer your favorite multimedia files using the PC Suite's "Manage Files" to your arena.
Have a good try and hope you can succeed to install the program.
Note: The LG PC Suite's connectivity to the Arena is NOT as good as the Nokia PC Suite I'm using previously. For sometimes, when you try to access the LG PC Suite, you will see the error message "Connection Failure...". Be patience when you see this error message, restart your PC then re-connect again and then you will be able to access to it.
