Just got my own Cookie yesterday and had it explored thoroughly the whole day today.
It's really not that bad like what I've read from most of the opinions in here.
Just a bit lacking when it comes to the plenty add-on features [that you don't really and actually need] very common with most of the expensive phones which big mobile-phone players put into their product models; but, it's really OK especially to those who only require functionality and purpose with a touch-screen phone.
Also, one drawback is the re-triggering of factory settings once you turn the Cookie off. I really wonder why LG didn't seem to find the simple design solution to this one dilemma that is not really uncommon with other maker's models.
But I really commend on the simplicity of this phone. Not very complex - just straight to the point stylish, realistic, and functional.

since you bought the phone last month, i think older software(before v10c +24 version) is installed to your phone.

Riz, 17 Jan 2009I saw that people are looking at their firmware versions; s... morewhat matters most is that you can communicate never mind whats inside as long as its working and you can reach the person whom you would like to get connected with am all contented with that. I dont care about the brand models or so as to what is the latest. The most important thing for me is the essence of communcition really.

about the phone heating up or getting warm while charging, it may be because you are placing it on top of a cloth-like surface or soft surface like a bed or or a sofa,
place it on a solid surface like a table or on the floor and this may lessen the warming.ü

Before you comment, do consider the different target markets. I guess you don't really think like a businessman.
Apparently, this phone targets those with a lower budget for phones, the people who like touchphones.
Buying this phone is not only a deal, it's a great deal.
Before I bought this phone, I already ordered a Blackberry. But, after seeing this phone, and how it would fulfill my needs without the unnecessary apps - I decided to go for this one.
LG did a good job, I would say.
Nowadays, I see alot of people owning very expensive phones - and believe me, I know they are on contract; Which actually takes the other costs of the phone. I don't want to be like these people who pay so much for a phone while, in fact, they don't use everything that the phone offers. That, to me, is very unwise.
I would rather buy something that would give me just what I need.
I do love to have a blackberry, but it's only worth it if I'm a big-timer. Since I don't consider myself one, I'd rather not.

No 3.5G,, No Smart OS.. Still use 256k colour.. C'mon it's 2009 We Need Technology!! We Need Smartphone!! My 2006 Touchscreen Smartphone [M600i] still better than this :p

Got Today Wow!! this fone is magnificent for the price been playing with it since this morning fantastic fun ! used to have 3g iphone and the iphone just does not compare , we have bluetooth, can download movies, record and watch them , charge while coonected to laptop, send mms easily and much more, especially like the handwriting tool , could go on and on ..................

I just recently got it. The 1st day, I played around with it to the extent of its battery charge; and it didn't heat up.
It only heated up, but not the kind of heat that old phones carried, when I charged it.
It was not bad.
Today, I actually played around with the software and added pictures on it.
I still have not used the MP3 part. I was too lazy.

Anyone know where I can get the software update in the uk? my phone keeps resetting and it's outside the 28 day exchange period at carphone. They can send it of for repair can't guarantee the repair center has the latest software version.

I have just bought this handset..i like the overall specifications, superb music quality...but the very important thing is the battery back up.........after full charging the phone can be used only for one day.........but the back up is given 350 hrs......whats this............
