Sreeni, 27 Nov 2008Got the phone a few days back, and it provides a great user... moreHi With regard you bugs i have a similar thing happening i have brought two of these lg kp 500 the first one has a blue line that runs along the top of the screen on all but the idle screen ,and it has a version of KP500AT_V10b and my other one has version KP500AT_V10c
so why the difference and they were both brought on the same day via Carphone warehouse ?
I have checked the LG website but i cannot find a update via there updater for this model any help id be most grateful or if you know how to update my other mobile to the latest to i presume KP500AT_V10c plus the wording is a lot smaller when showing the version number of the c version if that makes any sense to anyone .Any help in the right direction would be most welcome. There are many questions to this phone . First one is: Is it multitouch( you can touch 2 things at once) 2:Has it got a sketch pad, where you can draw things.3; I heard it has Opera Mini browser, how much does it cost to go in that.

It doesn't say what OS this phone has? Is it LG's Proprietary OS. It only mentioned Java on the specs. I guess its only Java games and apps.
Oh BTW its would be Better if Touchscreen Input via Stylus only is mentioned. Apple just raised the bar with Multi-Touch Touchscreen input using no-stylus that non-technical users would be confused.
This LG Cookie IMO is like an early Palm Treo Smartphones. The keyboard only made a debut in the Treo600. You use a stylus to navigate. But with new features added like an Accelorometer feature borrowed from the iPhone. Now I wonder how come Palm is so slow to come out with something like this??

Im looking for a phone for christmas and i liked the look of this one but can someone answer these questions for me please..
1) does this phone have a camera flash?
2) can you send themes from another phone and use them on this phone?
3) is it easy to text on?
4) can it be turned onto vibrate?
5) is the battery life good?

Lg and Samsung never make firmware updates for their phones. You just have to buy the next model. That is why buying Nokia is great, you just update your phone using internet.

However I am not sure. I bought this phone while in UK last week, and I am currently in India and hence am rather confused about the logistics of getting supported as well. I tried to post an update at the LG site, but was unable to make much progress

yes this bug is confirmed
2/3. yes if u set the expiration the msg is deleted : not a bug
but how do u delete individual appointments and schdules from it
Bug 3: Alarm
yes bug confirmed
Bug 4: Sync with outlook
Not confirmed yet
But what the use ,is LG planning to release an updated software patch for KP500

Got the phone a few days back, and it provides a great user experience. However we noted a few bugs, which are detailed below. I would appreciate it if other owners of KP500 try this, and let us know if you also face the same bugs.
Bug1:
I used the calendar widget to enter some appointments and birthdays. However when trying to access a date from the widget calendar to see the appointments, the phone reboots. It shows the LG logo and comes back to main screen.
Bugs 2: Calendar entries:
1 .when I save any appointment either as an anniversary or birthday and set the repeat as annual, it puts around 14 days of additional entries for the same appointment in all the subsequent months - 14 in Jan, 14 in Feb and so on.
2. I then changed the repeat to once and saved it, but that caused the whole appointment to be deleted from the calendar
3. I saved an appointment as repeating weekly and it saved just fine. However if you give an expiration date for the recurring appointment, then the whole appoitnment is deleted from the calendar
Bug 3: Alarm
I have saved a second alarm on my phone. However when the 2nd alarm rings, it shows the name/text from the 1st alarm, which reads Morning Alarm
Bug 4: Syncing with Outlook
I tried to use the sync tools to upload my contact list. I tried to upload from Outlook 2000 on my home computer, and Outlook 2003 in my laptop. It does not work with either. It starts to sync, reads all the contacts in Outlook (around 293 contacts), and then disconnects connection to the phone and provides a message that 'Synchronisation failed', but does not provide any comments/feedback about why it failed
We are still checking out all the features and will post more bugs as we find it. I am however keen to know if anyone else is facing the same problems

hows the picture and video quality taken by its cam ?
what about the sounds produced by its speakers is it louder than viewty ? kp500 plays n supports youtube videos like viewty or not ? plz tell me
