hi yengsheu,
it is not on the keypad but it is mentioned in the specifications. go to the viewty specifications webpage and you will see the feature (EMS) in messaging,,cheeeerzz

I just bought a viewty and i love it!!! however, i'm having one problem. i can't seem to SEND a text message. i CAN recieve one.. but can not send. it was missing the text message centre number, so i manually typed it in.. and yet, it still does not work. it just says "waiting.." and sits in the "outbox" for about 30 mins and shows up as "failed"
Anyone have an idea what the problem is? and how i can fix it?

I inally plucked up the courage to buy this handset, and i must say, im really very impressed with it. I thought that the touch screen interface would be a nightmare to live with, but in reality, it just makes using a phone so much simpler. Even though ive only been using it a few days, i have taken straight to the user interface and rarely press the wrong button by accident. Texting using the qwerty keyboard makes texting so much quicker, and despite the qwerty keys being quite small to fit on the screen, even if you have large fingers like me you never seem to hit the wrong letter by accident. The camera is very good, watching videos is fantastic as you view them in near full screen. The music player is good but the sound isnt that loud, however, the headphones included come with a 3.5mm jack adaptor included, i havent had a chance to test this yet but im sure sound performance will improve with better headphones. Internet works great on this handset. Overall, i am very surprised at how well this handset performs and would recommend it to anyone. And as for the battery, its still on its first charge and ive been using it about 3 days now.

so wen i connect the viewty to my pc it can instantly detects my memory stick? no nid to use pc suite?

After "Charge Complete" I turn off the phone... moreFor clarification of my previous comment: After "Charge Complete" I disconnect the phone from the charger and leave it turned off for the evening. Of course, any time it is turned off for hours at a time the battery drains. As previously mentioned after six hours or so (while turned off) the battery is completely dead.

Six hours later, in the morning, the battery is completely dead. I inserted a new battery. Same problem, repeatedly! I changed to a new phone after the first week. The second phone had the same problem. I put in a new battery again (total two phones, four new batteries). I also changed to a new charger each time. Same problem. All this with the help and advise of my local phone support person. (With all their good intentions they don't have a clue what the problem is or how to fix it). I was told that my experience is unique. After reading here many similar comments concerning battery life I realize that I'm in good company. (Of course, if I leave the phone in the charger all night, disconnect it in the morning and turn it on then it functions properly). Still looking for a technical solution that will prevent battery drainage when turned off.

While the look and feel of the LG Viewty Phone is impressive it has to be said that under the surface there is maybe not as much power as many would have hoped for. The phone will appeal to the more fashion conscious end of the market where the consumer is possibly a little more susceptible to the look rather than the services on offer.

several guys lament on the the poor battery. my 990R battery type is Lithium Ion Battery 3.7V 1000mAh LGP-580A can long 3-5 days in one charge with heavy usage. i feel i am lucky to have this phone. not a single bad comments yet
