Just purchased the LG viewty over the weekend, it’s an awesome phone. However I have two issues that I hope someone can help me with:

    1. When setting the profile to Vibrate I lose the gentle vibration that accompanies every button pressed. Is there any way to amend this?

    2. When trying to edit a text in the draft folder, only the last part of the text is visible, is there any way to scroll to the top of the text message?

Please can someone help me with these queries.

SDHC (high capacity) cards are supposed to be supported only by devices who hv an SDHC slot and not an SD slot (but SD cards can be read by an SDHC slot). so this confusses me when ppl say that their 4gb SDHC and 6gb SDHC work on this phone. I hv 2 questions. those who are using more than 2gb hv u filled ur card with more than 2gb, say 3gb and does it work? and wud an 8 or 16gb SDHC card work with it?

      thnx

The handwriting recognition is on the phone yes, and its.....workable.

Don't get me wrong its nice and easy to use, if you have flawless handwriting, but i myself have scruffy writing and it takes me twice as long to write out words as it does to use a mobile keypad input method. Basically its just like all the other handwriting recognition software out there, its good if you can use it, not so much if you cant.

As for the Card question, I'm sorry but i have no clue whats the difference between the two types of SD cards are lol. All i know is that my dad ordered a 4BG SanDisk Micro SD card for his phone (K850I) which was recognized by my phone and his (which is a same because if his phone didn't like it was gonna have it, now I'm stuck with my 2GB and my 1GB :(

              Hi Darren,
Your dad's 4GB SD card is type SDHC? Maybe only not SDHC card will be recognise by the viewty.

The Phone Is Ok, But The Text Messaging Is A Nuisance, I Noticed Aswell There Are Folders In Different Places Which Have No Reason To Be There.. Don't Get Me Wrong Its A Good Phone But I Wouldn't Recommend It To Anybody... Sorry

this phone is 70% great for technology of this year
I feel like the screen is going to stop working soon(when i text i can feel the unflatten of teh screen)
if you are using the net it don`t really show good pictures/text it`s huge and you can`t change that

the speaker and genaral volume is the worst thing it`s too low
The music player is great but am used to players you can equalizer and sort by artist etc
on this one you can sort but not the good way lol

no wi-fi but no one cares(so do I)

I URGE YOU TO GET A CASE FOR THIS COS I DON`T THROW IT BUT IT GOT A LIL SCRATCH ALREADY

when you talk sometimes it keeps holding the caller on it`s on
the battery life it way crap too

however... i have some questions :)
Does anyone know the maximum text messages this phone can hold? and can one sync with outlook?
ahhh!! last thing, if i keep the stylus pen looped with the phone, can the actual pen (not the cap) be lost as it came out of its cap?

To the poster who mentioned the divx playback a few posts earlier. Was the divx u put on a recently downloaded one. If it was it was probably divx 6 this phone only plays divx 5. You would have to convert your video using the software provided with the phone.

I can confirm it takes larger memory cards. put my dads micro SD in mine yesterday evening, with it being a 4gb and it not only recognized it and allowed me to save stuff to it, but in the memory management it also showed up as being a 4gb memory card.

Apparently: added on the 5th, it takes bigger memory cards, I haven't tried this yet but may take the plunge and by an 8gb card to try

just to let you all know the viewty also accepts memory cards higher than 2gb even though that all that the specs say it can handle, I have a 6gb micro sd HC in mine an it works fine. the built in memeory manager however does only show that you have 2gb of free memory. if you put files on the mem card it still reads them with no issues and the memory manager will still show that you have 2 gb left free (unless you use more than 4 gb thats when it will start to decrease). I have had the viewty for around 1 week now and i love it to bits. the camera is fab and the vga recording is very impressive. only one downside so far and thats the divx. Its is publiciesed that it supports divx at 600*400, I put a dix on my phone of 608*336 and it wouldnt play, i would of thought that the phone would be capable of downsizing the image to fit the screen but it appears not, I have not yet tried videos of less than 600*400 so im not sure if it will handle them either, it may just be that it absolutly has to be 600*400 to work wich is annoying as sometimes you cant find vids you want to download of that exact resoluiton. But i'm no expert in this area therefore do not know fully how the technology works, so there may be a reasonable explantion for this. appart from that its incredible.

you can't get the high speed hspda connection for the lg everywhere, I asked in an orange shop and they couldn't tell me where to get it in the uk!

I have this phone and to answer the questions posted: the speaker in it is very good, i have it at around 80% volume as it's too loud for me at max.

And you can load mp3's and other supported ringtones onto it and use them as tones and audio queues for most of the phones' functions.

I also like the mini vibrate it has each time i do something within the toutch screen, as i know (and it feels like) i have done something with it, a very quick device with a great flash interface.
