Love the phone. Generally use Samsung phones. Just a little worried as there don't seem to be privacy setting for messaging, photo r video fils etc as I am used to on U700. Also when I insted the memory card it took all photos out of heir neme folders and displays them openly with no other differentiation in the "pictures" section. I don't want this. can anyone help?????

      Hi all,

I'm getting confused here. So is there a mp3 playing program in this phone at all, so that you don't have to manually select a new song? Or this phone has the playing program, but you cannot adjust the settings at all?

      Thanks!

Upon further investigation, only the changes to the profile that were on the card reset, all the others which used phone memory items do not reset.

Ok, lots of questions, here goes

                1) As far as i know the camera noise cannot be turned off, if anyone finds out otherwise please tell me, makes getting embarrassing photos a lot easier.
2)Don't know if the Sky + app works so you might need to ask someone else.
3)You cannot edit the contact sub list. However, you set whether or not it is a mobile number. So you just enter multiple mobile numbers under the same person by pressing the + key at the side of the number box once you have written one. Just played around with it and i have 4 mobile numbers under the same name to make sure it worked.
4)Yes you can open multiple pro grammes at the same time. Top right corner is a symbol that looks like a grid with one box in blue. Thats the task manager, you click on that to choose which one you look at. not sure how many can be opened at the same time though.
5)No music equalizer, sorry. I think this is a poor point as well, but meh ill cope without.
6)You can fast forward video's in a manner of speaking. You just drag the button on the tracking line along. also if you answer a call, the video pauses and resumes afterwards, it doesn't start from the beginning.
7)Yes, third party applications can be installed. However, I'm not sure how many are that good for it yet, as i know Java games work, but they're not the easiest of things to play due to the touchscreen and them being designed for buttoned phones. Personally i would wait for dedicated third party apps.
8)Not sure if the profile changes every time u reinsert the memory card, seeming as you have to remove the battery to get it out anyway. However, i just tried it and it does reset to standard, well thats annoying to say the least.

I think thats all the questions answered lol

                  1) can the CAMERA noise be turned off?
                  2) does the SKY+ app jar file work?

Can anybody please answer following queries. Thanks in advance.
1.Whether we can edit the contact sub list. Say instead of "fax" can we put any name. This would be helpful if you have to put various mobiles nos. of same family members.
2.Can we open multiple programmes at a time.
3.Does it have any equaliser for the music player.
                    4. Can we fast forward the video files while playing it. Also if we get a call while viewing the video does the video restarts from the beginning after the call is over.
5.Can we install any third party applications on this phone.
6.Does the profile changes after every time the memory card removed and re insurted.
I think i have asked so many questions. Please can any one give the answers I will be thankful.sk

                          To NP8M;

I was similar to you, i was looking at the W960 and the P1i as my next phone when i saw this randomly as a sneaky addition to the O2 Website. Hence i did some more research on it, found the review here and followed that up with a test in the shop to know whether i liked the full touchscreen system.

As to regards to what you want it for: Both play music to a good standard, both have cameras, however i will say from using an N95, a K850 and the Ku990 camera, the best picture comes out of the Ku990. Texting and making calls etc are easy with it, especially seeming as you have 4 options in how to input your text message: Handwriting recognition of individual letters, or words, standard mobile key layout or a full qwerty keyboard, which is really easy to use.

As for office documents, i know it can use .PDF files, as i have a full version of Dracula on my phone in PDF format and its nice and easy to read.

As for battery life, According to the LG website, with no other apps running and not doing anything with it at all, the battery should last 454 hours. Ok i kno thats optimistic and the real value is probably about 400-410, but even so the P1i isn't that much more resourceful with battery life anyway.

Personally, after trying the P1i and the KU990, i went for the KU990, but then again thats my choice. your best option would be to have a go on both and see which one you like more before buying it.

Anyone found a case for this phone yet? It says they have one, but I can't find it.

I am about to buy sonyericsson p1i but when i see lg ku990 viewty's awesome touchscreen, now i'm confused which to prefer!

In my opinion, wifi is optional if smartphone already has 3.6 mbps HSDPA. To compare both with regards battery life, i would go for sonyericsson p1i.

Please, guys... help me decide. SE offers more features (except for LG camera which really superb!) but i really fascinated with LG's touchscreen that optionally require the use of stylus (unlike SE which requires often).

I just want a smartphone with fast interconnection, office apps, "finger" touchscreen and longer battery life.

If you decide, which one you prefer?

                              Thanks guys!

                                    to the comment below:
yes... and you have 3 other ways:
a "qwerty" keyboard or 2 different handwriting recognition : letter per letter or word per word
                                    ;)

So when you text, I take it that the letters just appear on the screen like the numbers do in the picture to the left?
