This phone WON'T be on Vodafone in the UK. Atleast not direct from them. I've just called them to ask for release date, and they said they have no plans to release it and do not do LG phones anyway. Oh well, looks like it'll be the K850 for me then...

an excellent phone
coming from the korean phone maker...
9.5 stars out of a possible 10 !!!
the only thing that dissapoints me is the stylus dongle...

I think i have made up my mind on what my next phone will be. i was debating between this phone and the N95 8gb, but once i found out that it records in VGA 30fps in DivX format im def. gonna get the viewty. anyone know when it will be released in middle east?

the specs of viewty says it doesn't have tv out support but then when i saw the review, it stated tv out support as one of its advantages. but on the review it didn't say anything about this feature. does it really have tv out support or not?

I'm from Canada. I really like to find a source that can confirm whether it supports GSM850 . GSMarena spec said it was quad-band before and had been updated to tri-band since a few weeks ago. And this review says that one of its advantage is that it is QUAD-band again? I relaly like to this phone but if it's tri-band, then it won't receive well in Canda/US. Pitiful :

Actually I like Nokia too. Had two Nokias when I started out. Then switched to Sony Ericsson which I thought was improving tremendously two years ago, though they seemed confused this year.
Tried using the Dopod/HTC and I really dislike it as a phone or multimedia device. Not sure if it is the manufacturer or the Windows operating system.
Am hoping that Nokia will annouce something to pound LG Viewty, because I really do like the Viewty too! Especially since the iPhone doesn't look like it's going to match LG Viewty in features in the near future.
I think the iPhone's touchscreen functionality is really a great user experience. Do you know if the Prada can match that? But I have seen the LG Viewty on some videos and the user interface seems great too!

well honestly i m quite a nokia fan. been using nokia phones for years! i never really like LG phones before, but my sister bought the prada phone and the user interface impressed me a lot! its very easy to use.
thats why when they announced the viewty, i was really excited. its 3G and good camera features. i only use the camera on my phone a lot. thus those so called smart phones are really not my thing.
cant wait to get my hands on the viewty!

Yes. I got an email from LG. However, he say 'targeting to launch'. Still, with its impending launch in Europe in October, I would expect it to come sooner than later to Singapore!
I am so happy too! Intially I was quite worried that it might only be released in Europe and never to Asia. So I am glad.
But I have also read that Sony Ericsson plans to launch a Mooi phone, which is supposedly their challenge to the iPhone. And Nokia did say that they are intending to launch a iPhone lookalike.
I am waiting for their announcements. If they happen before LG Viewty comes out in Singapore and offer better features, they might buy me in!

Somebody posted that this phone has stereo speakers. Maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't. That might be the only thing to keep me from buying this phone. If I'm going to record a video, I need a good sound quality with that.
