I think the cut off is more for the battery life then cheaper price. Same goes for soft touch buttons or backlight keys. Now i dont know if ambient light sensor drains and how much it drains in energy but i did resolve this issue with camera sensor instead. I payed 188 euros and for me its a bargain. I get 2 full days from this phone. Standby time is insane. 1 procent in 3 hours. I didnt even test this. But this is some energy efficent phone. New Motorola g lte maybe is better device but with no removable battery and lower capacity i dont know. Motorola g have better front camera and better display but for me this lg is better choice. I did compare moto g lte and lg l90 before i went in the store but 2540 mah battery in this phone have different appeal

how do you make a smartphone without an ambient light sensor? Are the folk at LG on crack or what? Its not a convenience, or even a feature. Its a necessity! How does one use a phone without it? Keep adjusting display brightness manually? Plain dumb. Even the cheapest chinese phones have auto display brightness regulation.

AnonD-144375, 30 May 2014Is auto brightness adjustment available? I tested this dev... moreAuto brightness adjusment is availeble if you download app called lux brightness control in playstore. It cost like 2 euro and it works thru camera. Camera becomes light sensor and then it adjust screen light according to light in camera sensor. So ambient light problem is resolved. For backlight keys you have option for tactile feedback so thru home button you can orientet where is left where is right and you get vibrate touch as response so called tactile feedback, now bad news for rhis device, i found a bug and its lg fameous wifi sleep stuck error. This is lg most fameous problem in all of its devices. Now you have so many option in wifi settings so i hope its only glitch in batterygurus self learning behaviour.

                Is auto brightness adjustment available?
I tested this device in a shop and I did not find this option in the settings menu. All I found is the manual adjustment.
                Thanks in advance.

wow. 32 hours and 36 procent left with 103 hours estimated. qualcomm batteryguru installed. and something new that i've not seen before task manager option to shut down services from refreshing in every app plus periodicly ram booster build in original task manager. Didnt find that on jelly bean (samsung) for so called lack of ambient light sensor there is another solution by installing lux automatic brightness wich function thru camera and it's low power app. By the way that app reduces brightness even more than standard nits. Overall this phone is only in it's class with that removeble battery capacity, i've checked entire gsm list of devices

Just picked this great for value phone. I am impressed for that price. It seems that this phone is thinner then it is and light to. Display colors seems to be washed out but it's more natural then full capacity ips panel which seems to be oversaturated. I have deactivated most of apps that i dont use so there is planty of them which can be deactivated. Art is present so hopefully it will run even smoother but so far there is no lag. And by the way it's first time i see so many themes for LG ui 3.0. There is no led notification and no ambient light sensor but there is some gimmick like auto brightness depending on temperature of battery or cpu which is great. Overall this is best mid range phone for this value. Not even interested in high end phone any more. By the way there is more ram availeble after ART conversion
