JimmySmith, 02 Aug 2015To be honest, I installed all my apps to Internal memory, a... moreI see. Just make sure u dont upgrade to lollipop because kitkat on lg l90 have better ram management. Plus battety last much much more. One thing to keep in mind. Dont use art on l90. Dalvik is very very stable plus some functions from google doesnt work that well on art in l90. If u have chromecast on art it will not work! Mirroring. And its much faster overall on dalvik. But that is for l90. And keep in mind maximum ram u can get from this phone is 500mb. I tried that one time just to see how much i can get. Your battery on kitkat should last 3 days moderate usage.

To be honest, I installed all my apps to Internal memory, and there is still space (except europe maps for navigation and hikings maps for my country - 3-4GB, I installed them to SD card). In my previous phone I had internal memory like 512 MB.
But I am just "prudential" user. I always have only things which I need (desktop, mobile whaever). And run it flawlesly with minimal footprint. In my previous phone it was necessary. But, I have now more space and better HW - still I will not waste it, and want only few core functionality which I personal using :)
I use phone for SMS, Call, geocaching, whatsapp, navigation and occasional web access (tickets for transportation etc). Thats it, I dont want to IR device, music player, video player or gaming station. To this I have flac pocket player, home theater and remote control.. I understand I am not like others, but just for my good feeling I would like to have clean phone and everything in it is using by me :) (my though is: those additional services, which I dont use, takes some space, some of them even running on background and eating battery)
Rooting my phone and editing hosts by Adfree it was first thing I did after unboxing.. And Link2SD and 2nd partition on my SD card is just precaution to future. As I wrote, space on internal memory is sufficient for me, but good to be prepared (and ability to link).. 16GB SD card cost me pretty little money, so I can "sacrifice" 3GB for one ext2 partition there.. I was like, hmm., it gave me pretty good enhancement in past, why not be prepared (even I doubt I will need use it anyway).
I really like my previous phone.. I looking new one only because HW failure.. And L90 I choose because exceptional battery result (noteboockcheck did pretty good tests), and OK GPS module (geocaching/navigation), and price. Nothing more - not interested for media,gaming...
And for these parameters I am really happy. Only thing I really and hard miss is LED notification. After some cleaning (for example, I googled LG MLT is some logging/tracking service ?!) I think I will be pretty happy, hoping that battery will last as long as possible :)

JimmySmith, 02 Aug 2015Hello, thank you for your comments..Why should be Link2SD m... moreBut thats the point. That phone u can use most for media. As for music and video both are advanced, especially video. Therr is no suvh video app on play store not even mx player. Thete is no app that supports wireless mhl off screenbesides stock lg's. You can try that using chromecast mirroring your phone and play video on chromecast and turn off your screen. Lock it. There is no other phone which have that function with locked screen. Just to clarify off screen is not black screen. Off screen is phone locked all the way. I think u are trying to make your phone game phone which is wrong and i also think that u have bad experience since gingerbread and your mind is set on that. Just to make sense so u understand. That phone have 8gb rom. How can u expect to run beyond that. The only thing u can try is to root your phone so u use link2sd from external card but even so some files will be on rom storage u cant escape that. Ir you dont need. There is no other phone in that class which offers ir blaster and u said u dont need that. I use it all the time. When i buy next phone i will make this phone as a media center for tv. Like micro pc but more likr micro phone tv media center. Plus you can freeze apps using greenify. Maximum ram which u can get free on this phone is 500mb but only on kitkat. Ive already tried that

Hello, thank you for your comments..Why should be Link2SD makes any troubles? It doesnt runs in background, it just makes a links? It saves my life, when I have 200 MB free in old phone, because androids APP2SD function doesnt do the "Move to SD" trick entirely - it leaves some things on internal (android 2.3.6). Also I am using Link2SD for freezing - it looks compatible with system, because in Android applications I see those apps as disabled.
Music and video - well I dont sayin that those apps are bad. I just dont use my phone for video or music playback. And want to have phone cleaned as much possible. And when android is Appbased, should it hurt to him when I uninstall those two?
Remote control - for what I need this application? It should works like remote control for TV etc.. Really not usefull for me.. ?
Update notification - I didnt find "per app notify settings" under Google Store application, I cam just turn ON/OFF for new update notification globally, for all my installed apps.

JimmySmith, 31 Jul 2015Figure it out, format partition to ext2 and choose ext4 on ... moreFirst of all u are doing it wrong. Make a clean factory reset, U dont need link2sd. Second deactivate following apps. CBS messages, gmail. google drive, google play books, google play movies, google play music, google play newsstand, google plus, hangouts, memo, remotecall service, talkback, you can even deactivate tasks if u want, remote control u need it why would u deactivate such a feature. u dont need link2sd at all if u not planing to play some serious gaming on it but that is just stupid. u see bloatware its all GOOGLE not lg. By the way that music player and video player which comes with kitkat from lg is much more powerful then u can find on market. Trust me i wrote review before and u need those two. especially video player which is so advanced cause of wireless mhl. There is no video app out there which have that function off screen!!! plus u dont need any launcher at all oon that kitkat. lollipop is another story its worse.

JimmySmith, 31 Jul 2015Hmm, got to the serious troubles with Kitkat and Link2SD, j... moreFigure it out, format partition to ext2 and choose ext4 on Link2SD did the trick. But telephone has a huge amount of bloatware compared to XT320 :O
Now I just starting with freezing, before deleting them through ADB.. and there is a lot of both Google and LG apps like: Drive, movie, FM radio, gmail, email, G+, Hangouts, music, Music (yes, twice the same name!), music play, books, LGSetup Wizard, Maps, Weather, Print spooler, Quick Remote, RemoteCall Service, street view, ... ...)..
I freezed LG actualization services (until root+Link2SD I just refused to accept their terms :) and seems to have peace from updates. There are a lot more applications, which I must consider if they are needed or not :(

Android27, 30 Jul 20151) Depends on what you consider bloatware.
2) You can't ac... moreThank You, I will try that you recommended in point 2.
Well, I dont like anything running on background, what didnt related to SMS, Call, and synchronize Calendar. I using my own apps to other things (navigation, whatsapp, lightining launcher, aqua mail). So everything else is not needed by me. If it doesnt running, then I dont care much (using SD card space anyway through Link2SD).
I have Motorola XT320 now, and there was pretty much applications, which I trying to freeze and then remove, Like facebook shit etc., but also a lot "motorola" things, which I just didnt know, for what purpose theyre running. Sometimes it cracks my phone function, when I try to disable it. A lot of application was "-odex", and tryin to looks like (and named) system applications. But half of them can be safely removed. I am very happy with this phone now, but it was hard way with "try and error" approach.
So by bloatware I mean some running application, which is safely to delete to have functional phone. I didnt get new mobile yet, but I bet there will be some "LG layer" type of applications..

2) You can't accidentally update without getting a notification though.
Still, to turn it off, go to Settings-->About Phone-->Common-->Update Centre.
Then simply uncheck the option to 'Check and download update automatically'

Hello, I just ordered the phone :) I would like to help with 2 things, hope someone will know:
1) Is there a list of bloatware, which I can safely remove after root?
2) Is there some option, how to disable update notification? I would like to stay on Kitkat 4.4.2 default OS.
Thank you in advance

Even after thoroughly inspecting all data collected by 'Wakelock Detector' and 'Greenify', I can't seem to pinpoint the cause of power consumption. I'm not sure why, but I think LP isn't any better at holding charge.
On Kitkat, battery life was without a doubt, better.
