I finally ended up with Grand 2 due to its HD screen and sharpness and clarity, and also the smooth touch, i had tried L90's touch but got a bit rough touch, hence went for grand 2 and surprisingly it is working pretty awesome.

Why is it that Grand 2 is reviewed. Xperia M2 got reviewed, but the oft talked about L90 was never even mentioned after a measly "Hands-On" review ?
Oh C'mon GSMArena, Y U No Review LG L90 ? (as if they even go through this comment feed...LoL)

I purchased this mobile on April 20th. and has been using it since then. I wanted to purchase an android set (my first infact). I have used Windows before and iPhone 5 is my primary phone. I was really confused between Moto G, Grand 2 and this one. However I had to rule out Moto G only due to the limited availability of service centres. The guy at the store helped me choose this one over the Grand Neo and the Grand 2. The Grand Neo is downright a wastage of money since it packs an year old hardware and software at a premium package. The Grand 2 is good with a hd screen and higher ram but costs about 4.5-5K more. So, I had to go with this one and boy, I'm pleasantly surprised.
The screen is good (though not a hd unit),but the IPS display has adequate color reproduction, viewing angles and contrast. Sunlight legibility is decent. However, you do notice pixelation when you hold the handset too close to your eyes, but that is really stretching it a tad bit. However. Videos do lack the punch when you view them side by side on a hd screen.
The hardware is decent and in fact, a standard affair for most budget handsets from reputed manufacturers. The slim profile and rubberized back gives the feeling of a premium handset. The handset is extremely light-weight. I didn't encounter any issues with the handling as well. In fact, it's because of LG's approach to minimum side bezel that despite having a 4.7" screen, one-handed operation is fairly smooth. However, there should have been an ambient light sensor and back-lit keys.
The phone runs smoothly and the Optimus UI is pretty simple, without much bloatware. I didn't experience any lags or heating issues.
I am a person who makes a lot of phone calls and thud is one area where this handset can compete with all the Nokia's and even iPhone 5 or later. Call quality is excellent. The speaker is quite loud and I didn't experience any issues during calls. In fact, the Moto G has an issue with call quality on a few handsets.
The camera is decent and performs well in outdoors and brightly lit environments. But indoors and in low light, the camera performs rather poorly. However, If all your pictures end up on fb or instagram, then it should suffice. Off course, it would be a bit too much to expect that the camera quality would be at par with the iPhone 5s or Galaxy S5.
The battery life is very impressive. It easily lasts me about 18-20 hours with heavy 3g usage and moderate gameplay and music. I didn't experience any stutters while playing games like asphalt 8 or real racing 2. However, some people may have encountered a few issues.
I'm overall satisfied with this phone abd would strongly recommend it to anyone with a budget of 16K or so. Off course, if the limited availability of service centres do not bother you, the Moto G should be a great buy at 14K. But, this phone is a good buy abd a worthy competitor to the G. The Xperia M2 is exactly similarly specd, but costs 5K more. Moreover, one or two reviews on YouTube showed LG l90 to be somewhat faster than the M2 while running a few applications, but then these reviews may be biased.
Overall, it's a good buy. The only issue I'm facing now is the availability of window covers or flip covers. I'm at Kolkata and I dnt seem to find anyone who has a stock of these.

AnonD-267878, 30 May 2014check this youtube video about LG L70 gorilla glass test. ... moreHey mate, thank you so much. I would have found it more useful if it were in English but there's no doubt L70 has Gorilla Glass. So, L90 should be having it I guess.
That corning Gorilla Glass site does not lists L90 as having it but then there have been many more handsets featuring Gorilla Glass not getting mentioned on their site so I guess, L90 most probably is having it.

Manu, 30 May 2014I also have Samsung Galaxy Neo and LG G Pro Lite in options... moreGrand Neo is using a Broadcom chipset. That is pathetic compared to Qualcomm. Don't waste your money on such a device. Besides, its quite old.
G Pro Lite uses a Dual Core Cortex-A9 CPU which is not as power efficient as Cortex-A7. So power backup wouldn't be that awesome as on L90. Besides, why are you considering old devices when newer and better ones are available. That G Pro Lite also uses a Mediatek + PowerVR SGX combo. That isn't as good as Qualcomm + Adreno combo. Even the screen is at a pathetic 200ppi at an unwieldy 5.5in size.
Getting an old device only justified when its a former flagship at a bargain. Otherwise its not recommended. So around this price point your choices should be L90 or Moto G (I don't recommend Moto G if you talk a lot on phone because its call quality is really bad)
I'd have recommended you a G2 Mini but unfortunately they will never price it around the price of L90 so I dropped the suggestion. Otherwise it has a great cam.

sks, 23 May 2014N i think first u shud get ur brain checked...this video is... moreBut I'd still suggest an eye check up anyway. I mean, what's the point of having a functioning brain when you can't see the slight stutter in the gameplay.
That reviewer is not an ass. He checks dozens of phones and its his business to do so. Sure, he might not be a developer or some sort but what you see is what you get. That is no spoof video or something. Its reality.
Secondly, one person's experience does not define everybody's else's. That video review is not absolute. I never endorsed that video. I think you are under the impression that I base my buying decisions on that particular reviewer. Nothing can be more lame. I even checked with other reviews but they were playing heavy games where there was not even a hint of stutter. Which is why I put up a question here in this comment feed to verify if there is so much a stutter in playing casual games.
I know its an Adreno 305 just like Moto G, so I wasn't expecting much in the first place anyway, but stutter in Temple Run and hardly any stutter in Asphalt 8 was a bit surprising.
The phone can play high end titles really well, that I confirmed in the meantime so the doubt is cleared. Next time, try to watch two videos simultaneously to ascertain if gameplay on two different devices are identical or not before engaging in lame accusations.

The soft keys on the bottom apart from being invisible at night are also a little bit oddly placed mainly dut to a fourth sim control key which was absolutely not required....this though can be fixed with a software update if lg wants to by providing option for onscreen keys like many other phones have done...this would be extremely usefull and would be a big hit it is done
