The lg Leon is just a generic version of the Lg g2 g3 & g4. I don't know what y'all expect out of a low budget phone smh you get what you payed for. I owned a g2 and now the g4 I have no problems with my $600 phones. Camera is excellent back and front I doesn't have a battery life is outstanding. Y'all should just upgrade or stop being cheap. Until then don't complain.

Is the camera really that bad. I thought the vga would front camera would be the only problem but is the back 5mp camera bad too. Aren't they good if you have them in good lighting.

I've owned it for about a month and am fairly impressed. It's awesome if you get the rebate and it's free. It's probably worth the $49 after - except for the cameras. The battery was a concern when purchased, but with the use I put into it, I'll get 2 - 3 days (WiFi 4 hrs daily, Location 2 hrs, Bluetooth 2 hrs. Phone chunky compared to Nexus I trashed, but much cheaper. Smaller screen, but not bad. Loaded barcode readers and Google Camera to try and have it read barcodes with no luck. Don't do selfies much so front camera not issue, but it can't focus on barcodes. Other images just so so. 8GB of internal memory fills fast I don't seem to have much on and I'm done to 1.8GB left. Eats up 4.4GB in System Data-WTHeck? Runs pretty fast and multi-tasks well. LG Keyboard runs choppy, but it can be replaced.
3rd LG phone I've had and pretty much happy with them. Not happy Android updated Nexus into constant self starting loop, but don't see an issue with this Leon.
So except for the cameras, it's a keeper.

Camera is beyond bad. Flat out unacceptable. My previous 3 phones have been LG. Optimus V, L9, and F6. All had acceptable cameras- yes, even the Optimus V. The Leon's camera is so bad, it won't even read barcodes! Everything comes out blurry. Maybe I received a bad unit, I can't be sure, but it is terrible. I don't see how a phone released in 2015 can have such an atrocious camera. It has 48 minutes of talk time, still within the MetroPCS return policy, so it is going back... I'll switch to my old F6 until something acceptable comes along. Awful product, LG!

So it seems like people don't want the Leon and people do want the Leon. I'm thinking about getting it for games,watching movies, faster speeds, and videos or pics to post on social media. Is this the right phone for me to get at its $50.00 price. Please let me know why you think I should or should not get it

My Lg Leon has only 4GB internal storage what is that? are LG not Standard on there specs????

The camera is VGA officially refers to only 640x480 pixels with 16 or 256 colors, and the resolution after you take a picture is bad, can play music MP4/H.264 player,MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player, if you have defferent format it will not play...and you should buy the LG compatible charger it takes 2-3 hrs to be fully charged.

I'm going back to store and see if theres something they can recommend. I looked through the guide book but no instructions on how to play music.

The camera on this phone sucks. It says its 5MP, but the resolution once the picture is saved is very poor, and splotchy, with lots of jpeging. There are no save quality settings other than the resolution, and it doesn't seem to matter what resolution it's set to, it still looks really bad. I had an LG Motion, which also had a 5MP camerao, and the picture quality on that was much better.
The picture looks pretty good in the viewfinder before taking pic, but then when picture is saved, the quality is very degraded. Working from this, I experimented with just taking a screenshot of the preview image before taking an actual picture - and that saved screenshot is of better quality than a saved picture of same thing. Considering that the screen resolution of this phone is 480x854, thats only 410kp, or 0.4MP - and the screenshot is better than the 'supposed' 5MP camera!
I got this free with LG Motion trade in, and I realize that its basically a cheapo phone, but I think they need to be more honest with the specs - there's no way the images saved with this camera are truly 5MP. With my LG Motion I could take pics of entire sheets of paper and when zoomed in, the text could be easily read, with this one, no way. A smart phone is used in all kinds of situations, and scanning/photoing documents is one of them. It's not feasible to do this with this phone.
The other negative, perhaps not as important, is that the screen is pretty dark, especially in daylight, and for some reason it won't go full brightness, saying that the phone is overheating. It does this a lot, even when I'm not using the phone, and it deosn't feel hot or even warm at all. The LG Motion would get very warm, and still never did this.
I tried to bring back to corporate store, but was given a run around about not being ready for exchange. I tested the floor model for picture quality and it more or less had the same spotchy jpeging, even on the highest resolution.
Very frustrating all around. I'm hoping this can be fixed by rooting and installing a camera with greater control over how images are saved, or, that there's a firmware update that addresses this.

I bought this phone on June 4th and used it until June 19th. I loved this phone, It reminded me of a mini G3 almost, one problem is that it will now not boot up at all! Metro pcs said it was a software issue. To me that is horrible luck for me, or a horrible product. So if you rely on your phone for everything like I do, I would recommend something more reliable.

There are better options for this price range. The screen has a very noticeable yellow tint, I talk about this and other phones that have similar performance at half the cost in my video review.
