          AnonD-190673, 03 Nov 2013Can someone tell what IPS is n how it works?IPS (In-plane switching ) is a screen
technology used for liquid crystal displays
(LCDs). It was designed to solve the main
limitations of the twisted nematic field
effect (TN) matrix LCDs at that time, such as
relatively low response time, strong viewing
          angle dependence and low-quality color
          reproduction. In-plane switching involves
arranging and switching the molecules of
the liquid crystal (LC) layer between the
glass substrates. This is done in a plane
          parallel to these glass plates.

if you need features than get a Samsung, LG, HTC etc.
i really dont need Touchwiz, Sense, Airgesture, Airview etc. Watch on youtube, this phone is so smooth on stock Android.
I had a Samsung GS3 and Nexus 4, and i love my S3, but it always lag's on the Contact List, Call Log.

For 350$, that's the phone you need to have

Slayer, 04 Nov 2013The Xperia Z and Z1 both have SD Slots....and they are top ... moreYes, Slayer great effort once again from Sony with the Z1. My only quibble is the sheer size of it in terms of bezels. This is also my one & only criticism of my HTC One, but Z1 is much improved in terms of sound, call & screen quality over the Z & the camera is great especially after the latest update...At the end of the day, the smaller players in the Android market HTC,Sony & LG are the ones raising the bar & will in turn force Samsung to raise its game because the S4 was one lazy update of the S3. I'm waiting to see what HTC comes up with their follow up to the One or if they indeed will come up with another winner considering their financial predicament...

An excellent device and price. However, considering that the future is 64-bit, it is prudent to skip this device and instead invest your money in the next generation Nexus device. This is better future-proofing.

In 2012 the top 6 selling phones only 2 take an SD card
i rest my case......but i will say i would like a sd slot in my next phone but as i like the phones not full of wizz sense it will most likely be the nexus....again

No crap, hideous, laggy, buggy TouchWizz(Check!), No 9Gig footprint wasted for OEM's crap software, UI & gimmicks that won't either be used or don't work(Check), zero waiting for Android latest updates(Check!). I currently own an HTC One which I love, but this is the first Nexus phone I'm actually considering buying because it's the first Nexus device with a decent camera & screen. 32gig is enough fogood r me & apps on SD always caused crashes on my old devices so is not a deal breaker for me. Samsung fanboys trolling others because they totally blind to the merits of anything else(Check). I'm sure next year, when Samsung put out
their new Galaxy F devices in metal, they will be saying how great they are,
whereas now they boast of the wonders of polycarbonate & fake leather. These same sheep were just as bad as Apples mindless sheep.
Nexus 5 looks like a great value device...Me personally, I just will buy whoever makes the best phone purely on the hard work, effort, design & innovation at that time...At this moment, just as was on release the best Android device is the HTC One or maybe the LG G2 with the Sony Z1 a close 3rd. Samsung has become the very thing I originally bought Galaxy devices for...A virtual monopoly is never a great environment for innovation or design...

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2013Can someone pls comment on the audio quality / loudness ?Nexus 4 call clarity was great, and sound in general was ok - The problem was that the speaker was on the back of a completely flat phone, so if you put it down on a table, it was terribly muted - almost to the point of inaudible.

I expect the Nexus 5 to have great call clarity (some early hands on reviews said as much), and pretty decent sound with the speaker on the bottom of the phone.
