I would better buy Xperia ZL (at Rs.27000) than buy a mobile with 8 Mp camera, no waterproofness and no memory card slot. This time nexus has failed to provide an android inexpensive than his rivals and sony has captured my attention in the search of one. Thank you nexus

Denzil, 02 Nov 2013For how long? The Galaxy Nexus uses a TI OMAP processor and without updated drivers from TI, it can't update Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.4

Denzil, 02 Nov 2013For how long? Google stopped updates for galaxy nexus withi... moreI would be happy it if they updated for at least 3 years. I mean 7 years is too much for me, and it would cost Google too much (so they wouldn't do it for so long anyway). In addition, I think most* people don't keep using the same phone after 3 years.

For how long? Google stopped updates for galaxy nexus within 2 years for reasons not related to hardware because android 4.4 needs only 512 MB Ram.So what is the point in buying nexus phones? Only thing is faster updates than others.Other top branded androids will also get updates for 2 years or more and you will get more advanced features and better hardware.Google should give updates for their nexus atleast for 7 years no matter how outdated be its hardware by that time.

Good grief people.
First: SD Cards. Who needs them anymore? Slow transfer speed is a hack. you never remove it from your phone anyways. Store your shit in Dropbox or whatever when you are home and have time. SD is yesterday tech on phones and I certainly don't miss them.
Second: Battery. KITKat 4.4 has been optimized more than ever.New chipset also is more efficient
.
The nexus 5 has some new features that will help battery. For LTE it has envelope tracking which saves 20% battery when using LTE. For audio playback they now have audio tunneling to DSP which they claim is 50% better for audio playback.
It seems to me that the industry don't sit on the fence waiting for better battery technology, but instead optimize the software to be more efficient. Chipset is already on point with Haswell and such.
And last: Pixels aren't everything. If I would choose between 8mp that lets in more light than 12mp that lets in less light. I would go for the 8. Light is Essential for good clear pictures. ESPECIALLY on phones..
