Anonymous, 21 Dec 2016Should I buy the nexus 5x or the iPhone 5s .pls reply wth a... moreI'm using this excellent piece of phone for last 10 days as my secondary device. Hardware per say is way ahead of iPhone 5s be it camera performance, screen quality or overall usage experience. iPhone could be your choice only basis of small screen size and iOS. Given a choice, any day I would go with Nexus 5x over iPhone 5x.if you are considering iPhone 6 or upwards, then it's a different matter and go ahead with iPhone.

About the issues you afraid of buying Nexus 5x today. After my research before I took my device, I concluded that the bootloop issue when update from Marshmallow to Nougat, was in some of the first production 2015 series. Check the serial number on the box package before you buy it, to be recent product and probably will be ok. The yellowish sense color in the screen, the lag if you used the device while it was charging, were in the first production series, too. About the Type-C port/cable, the non-removable battery and the nagging about the usb adapter for pc connection which doesn't included in the package... Really?? Nagging for these stuff??? Type-C is new tech which will replace micro-usb, so it looks future proof in my opinion. Usb adapter is not included, but too many smartphone packages from many brands don't include usb adapter, hands-free speakers set, external bluetooth device, silicon case etc. (micro-usb adapter stick included in my package by the way). Non-removable battery is used to be supported by many brands in too many devices the last years so I don't think that is something should stop you buying this device. Maybe in the next years, you won't find any device with removable battery. Hope to help and Merry Christmas!

I have Nexus 5x with 32GB, carbon/black color, 7.1.1 android version, not for too long and here are my impressions.
It is plastic and the back has a glossy touch which is really nice cause it doesn't slip easily from your hand. It doesn't look and feel in your hand cheap but not too expensive. It is just fine.
In standby the battery in 12 hours lost only 2% (nice). I have to charge it in the end of the day (normal+ use). Charging from 0% to 100% in less than 2 hours which is great.
The available memory Ram is 1.8GB and the stock usage is 0.9GB. With 3-4 apps is 1.1-1.2GB. Think that other no-stock OS smartphones use 1.3GB with brands' preinstalled apps. So, if the memory Ram is enough depends of the user.
The speakers are not too good. The sound quality is just ok.

I prefer an easily replaceable battery. A non-removable one like this is a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. I spend too much time away from electrical outlets to even consider something that does not allow me to easily swap batteries.

Hello Everyone!
I'm getting one of these in couple of days and wondering has anyone ever had bootloop problem and has it happened with Marshmallow or Nougat. After purchasing it I came to know a lot of people experiencing this problem and bit scared about it. Thanks in advance!

Few days ago I upgraded my 5X to Android v7.1. I was happy with 7.0, and thing I like the most on v7.1 are new camera features. Now you can manualy select white balance, and also you have little slider, so you can make exposure brighter or darker before you take picture (you can use this option in video too). That's really nice from them to give us little more control over camera, which was always great on this phone. I have this phone for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with it. Best phone I ever had, I'm happy with everything it have to offer :)

The 5X is certainly no slouch. Stock battery life will get you 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours of screen on time (WiFi/Mid-brightness). The fingerprint sensor is blazing and memory management isn't bad either. It doesn't get too hot under any circumstances, but if you're using it in the winter, try to keep it in your pocket - the cold is this device's enemy. I don't use cameras often, so this is more than good enough for me (4K video? Is that even necesarry?).
If you're wanting more battery, check out XDA and put a custom kernel on it. The dev base for this phone is VERY strong.

Beware before buying Google /LG NEXUS Mobile phones
Spent Rs 36K on purchasing much publicised Google Nexus 5X mobile phone from Reliance Digital, Dwarka, New Delhi last year, believing quality/brand of Google.
However, after upgrading OS basis alerts from Google, phone started giving trouble and got dead without giving any indication. Most surprisingly some of my other friends also faced similar issues (within 10-14 months of purchase) while upgrading the OS on their Nexus phones.
After, failed in trouble shooting exercises with Google and LG team over telecon; took handset LG service centre at Sector 14, Gurgaon and got diagnosed as ‘Mother Board needs to be replaced’ which got impacted while upgrading/using the Android OS. Also user will have to bear the expenses of around 9K for the same. Though, Google/LG cannot compensate users on inconvenience caused by their hi-end imperfect phone however Google/LG should rectify such known MANUFACTURING DEFECTS free of cost for the impacted devices.
Therefore, readers of this post are cautioned to please double verify such manufacturing defects in Google/LG NEXUS phones to avoid inconvenience and additional financial burden.
