Wolfie, 07 Feb 2016Which phone is overall better? Nexus 5X or 6P? Main concer... moreCamera is the same unit in the 5X and 6P. 6P has an extra gig of ram so performance wise the 6P has the edge. Also 6p has a better amoled screen. Main disadvantage for some with the 6p is its size.. Also some have build defect with the glass covering the camera area where it can crack. Personally I would wait till the end of this year to see what is offered as I'm still using my original Nexus 5 and I don't see the 5x as a good replacement.

I've owned the Nexus 5X since December 2015, and I'm mostly happy with it. This phone replaced the older smaller Moto X 2013, which my wife now uses very happily.
I like the USB-C connector, since it works either way you plug it in - no more checking to see which side is up. I also like that with the USB-C (3 Amp connector) the phone can charge VERY fast if I need to, although I don't always use the "rapid charge" feature if I don't need it. Mostly I use my old charger at work through a small micro-USB to USB-C adapter. In my car, I use a Motorola cigarette lighter charger with a micro-USB connector and the same USB-C adapter; this keeps up with the phone screen turned on for GPS navigation while playing music and making phone calls through my car's stereo, through Bluetooth.
I have found that if I use over 1.8 GB of the 2 GB RAM capacity, the phone response lags, so I keep the RAM only to about 1.4 GB - that still lets me use plenty of apps, believe me. But this is true of ANY phone. When I owned two Samsung Galaxy (the GS3 and GS4), I noticed the same lagging problem when I loaded the phone with too many active apps.
What I really love about this phone is Project Fi. So far in the 3 months I've used it, my monthly bills have dropped each month. Dec-Jan: $45, Jan-Feb: $35, Feb-March: $29. I think my next bill will be about $27. And for this, I get unlimited phone and unlimited text messages. I am lucky to be covered with WiFi signal most places I go. When I know that am going to be using cell data because WiFi is lacking where I'm going, I load up my phone with the music and reading material that I need, and pre-load Google Maps with the places I'll be. I also "plugged the data leaks" so that my apps don't gobble up data on their own in the background. This is fine for me, because I can wait till I get within WiFi range to get those apps "re-charged".
All in all, I like the phone and I plan to keep it... for as long as I want to. It is MY phone, that is, I bought it outright, so I can do whatever I want with it for as long as I like. I really like not being stuck on a 2 year contract with my old carrier, Verizon. That was really annoying, to have to wait 2 years before I could pick another phone out.

Ignore comments about it looking cheap, etc. It is very well made and looks good. Great size, fast, great camera. Ram fine for average users, certainly for me. 16 GB storage fine for me but prob most go for 32. A really excellent all round phone at a good price. Sensor is also superb. I thoroughly recommend the phone.

PSC19 , 11 Feb 2016Does this phone heat a lot after moderate usage(that is aft... moreNope. I have played Nova 3 for an hour with charger plugged in and on WiFi but there was no heating at all. Occasionally i have noticed lil bit of heating around the fingerprint scanner while gaming fro more then an hour but that heat was barely noticeable. You have to feel it consciously to find that sign of heat.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2016A company which produces OS for all smartphone companies in... moreBuddy i am using nexus 5x from couple of weeks and i have 60 apps installed on my phone including all google services, social apps, shopping apps and heavy games like Nova 3, Asphalt 8 in addition to Rayman Adventures and Into the Dead. and trust me the device is fantastic it works just smooth i every task. The storage may be an issue to some of users out there but you can use an OTG drive or go for 32gb variant. but i think 16gb variant is enough too.
