does the VIDEO PLAYER of this phone support .MKV files? after updating to gingerbread?

I've been using mine for 2 weeks aproximately. After I found the official update to Android 2.3.4 I was the happiest guy 'round. Based on my previous weeks usage, I noticed a battery improvement of about 2-3 hours and many of the software problems (the ones I noticed at least) were fixed. I'm still playing around with my phone but I can say I'm pleased with the update results so far. It's processing power, however, gets wasted 'cause almost none apps seems to take advantage of the dual-core processor. This baby is a battle horse that no one seems to exploit.

Great phone..
i m using this phone from last two months and there us no prblm at all never hung no software issue.
I am just waiting for Gingerbread update in Pakistan as i am using an american phone.

Could anyone tell me about the battery and heat issue which people tell about this phone. i want to get this phone very economical in terms of price for the features that it provides. awaiting all your response about the heat /battery/ crashing issues.

just got the 2.3.4 update.really solve the reboot problem.just realize a flash of green light on the screen when i try to slide the screen when this update has been done.hope the upcoming update will solve this problem.

I've had the phone since August and it's a great phone for it's new knocked down price. When I say great phone I mean on the hardware front only, out the box it's mediocre and doesn't feel any faster than a single cited 1ghz processor phone but this KS mainly LG's shoddy software, once rooted with a decent custom rom the phone comes in to its element with a significant boost in performance and reliability.
Personally I wouldn't recommend it to my friends, it needs work and attention to meet it's potential and if a friend got it I'd be the one who has to do the root and rom updates for them, but if you're comfortable to put in a little work and know your way around the underworld of android you could do a lot worse.
Note: I've not tried LG's release of gingerbread as I'm happy in cm7, but its been confirmed that the o2x will be updated to ice cream sandwich at some point

i m using for last 1 month p990.it never hung...after the 2.2.2 update its battery backup also increased.even lasting for 2days sometime.

This is now becoming tremendous value. Considering it's getting on for a year old it's still very future proof. It will eventually get Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and can be had new for half the price of the latest handsets.
It's a bargain :-)

Hi,
I have Successfully Update my new 4 days old Optimus 2x to GB in India.
Its clearly showing version 2.3.4 and version is v20e.
Earlier it was showing 2.2 v10e
download was 215.15 MB in size
All the data was present in froyo as is transfered to GB.
UI feels a bit different(hardly :) ), like after pressing the menu button we get different options than before.and few other changes
performance wise, it looks better but i am not the right person for that because i hardly used froyo for 3 days !!

since when is GB available in India?? I heard it was rolled back and LG was introducing Android 4.0 ICS next month???

Dev, 17 Nov 2011Yes!!! thats true but its v20e & not v20l.anyone alread... moreI have upgraded to V10E (India). But its still Android 2.2. May be Ginger Bread will be version V10I. After upgrading to V10E, i did not have any issues except for the wifi. Sometimes won't connect properly
