AnonD-3937, 09 Mar 2013Thank you. I have been here long enough to realize you are ... moreits not so strange that we dont have better battery's were sadly just reaching the limit of our current technology.
the main thing they need to do now is make them more energy efficient but for example producing the cpu's ar the new 22nm or even 14nm making leds even more powerfull with the use of less power and so on.
thats the only way we can improve battery time atm untill they finalt find a way to store more juist into a battery.
the current technology is ages old and noone ever bothered investinginto the future as they all thought iit was enough while infact storing energy is the most important thin in the next 2 decades and not just for phones tablets and cars.
humans use the least power on daytime and yet solar panels only work on daytime so we need to start storing that energy for the night but right ow we need like 15 car batterys a house to store enough for the night.
ahh wel im ranting way offtopic here hehe.
time to go to bed :P

As far as battery goes, I am sure I won't be amazed by it, I still wonder why aren't people able to produce better batteries for all of the devices that run on batteries.

AnonD-3937, 08 Mar 2013Ok so I tried to post a comment but I am waiting for the mo... morefirst thing to do it putit on the charger and leave it there for atleast 4 hours!
otherwise you start off with killing your battery on the first day.
some people disagree with me on this but ive never had a bad battery so i like to think they are wrong!
second thing you need to do is update the phone to the latest firmware.
then you need to do a factory reset. (wipes data)
then you can restart the phone an start doing your things like disabling apps you dont need or couse batery drain.
after that your gonna end up draining about 4 charges to 2% and plug it in the charger again (directly at 2% or the phone will shut down.
thise few full cycles seem to have a positive effect on the battery.
after then you can just do whataver you want with it as long as you dont complain about the battery or heat :P

Anon1, 08 Mar 2013In short, Better earphone volume, camera is much better wit... morethats exactly what i posted already.
but my point is nothing inthere is actualy usefull.
headphone sound is more then loud enough if you find it to soft you have hearing damage or are surely creating it.
if your camera is slow you should downloade 3rd party camera apps.
as for battery improving ive got yet tos ee proof of this but noone on xda seems to understand that showing you can last 2 days with a battery does not show the actual use time the battery gives you.
for that they need to go and browse the same contend for 1 hour then watch the same movies for 1 hour and then chat for exactly 30 minutes and so on till the battery is dead and then take the average time the battery lasts under use.
i dont care much for people showing 18 hours battery time i can get 7 days with the battery still on more then 50% but that is not interesting.
so its hard to find people that actualy test the battery properly and not once but multiple times. and then take the average.
and yeah custom roms can be a good deal im watching that but they always seem to have a downside with some parts not working or not working optimally which just isnt acceptable to me.

Ok so I tried to post a comment but I am waiting for the mods to approve it, whatever.
As I said before, I am getting this phone in 10 days or so. I ask, what are the first things you want to share to a 4x newbie like me? how do I save battery life, should I root it, do I need to be extra careful with it etc

pino, 08 Mar 2013i really would but i simply cannot find a reason to.
i so ... moreIn short, Better earphone volume, camera is much better with superior quality than 10h, better gaming support and GLONASS for GPS (very quick locking), Rotatable homescreen, some junk apps like Yahoo! services and Social+ removed.
People are actually reporting that battery is slowly improving. Now that Dexter_NLB has writing custom ROM with his CustoNexus and kHolk also coming in, I can only see positives for 4x HD.
BTW, did I tell you that they have fully unlocked the boot-loader. Process is there on XDA 4X General Forum. Enjoy!

Anon1, 08 Mar 2013@Pino, I really think you should embrace JB like others on ... morei really would but i simply cannot find a reason to.
i so far only see negative features except 2 things.
the only good features are being able to disable notifications per app and offline voice typing.
the project butter is a bad thing as it uses more battery.
jb itself preloads way more intot the memory which is a bad thing as its wasted ram and cpu power as it needs to dump it when i need the ram leading to even more wasted cpu power.
and when im done with my app it preloads crap i dont need again leading to even more asted cpu poer.
so both project butter and JB itself cost more battery time.
it might be 2% here 5% there but that easely adds up and lets be honest we dont need project butter as this phone cant get smoother but everyone with a smartphone needs/would like better battery life.
i also dislike te screen brightness bar in the JB rom from lg as its a waste of space we already havethe button which works just fine with 3 settings and a custom setting (low > medium > high > custom).
the multiple users is also a feature that costts ram but noone should ever want to use on there phone anyway.
so if someone can point me to some actualy good points that are worth the loss of battery duration im all for it :) untill them its likely i wont up/downgrade to JB.

pino, 08 Mar 2013seems not but im actualy happy about it i like it clean and... more@Pino, I really think you should embrace JB like others on XDA. This is actually making our 4x much better than just ICS. I am still going through last 50 pages of the official JB thread, but from the looks of it, it looks very very good. Bootloader unlock is tricky so far, but who knows. People are trying and thread grew from 35 pages to 141 pages in just 2/3 days. That is some traction.
For anyone else who is sitting on the fence, buy this phone while the stock lasts. Absolutely fantastic phone with features and performance much better than competitors at much lower prices. Samsung, HTC, sorry, but your phones don't stand a chance now in benchmarks. Too bad, people go by your publicity and not the actual product.

AnonD-57790, 07 Mar 2013Does not QSlide??? Dissapointseems not but im actualy happy about it i like it clean and without ot much crap on it.
maby someone will port the app or make a alternative for it :)
for as far as ive gathered info no JB will offer about the same preformance as 4.03 in the benchmark atleast and uses about 150 mb more ram memory.

ianik, 07 Mar 2013hi all,
i have some query: if someone can help.
doe... morei suggedt you download a app that monitors your signal strength and leave your phone where you always leave it.
as thats the only actual way of seeing what the problem is.
either your phone is losing the connection or your provider is having some serious issues where you live.
heres a example of one of those apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blueline.signalchecklite
i cant find a actualy app with a timeline build in atm but i suggest so searching for one that can.
the one i liked just shows actualy stats.
so if you have a landline i suggest telling some friends to sometimes call you and if you cant be reached call you on the landline so you can check the app at that verry time.
of you get low signal you really need to contact your provider.
also what does the signal strength meter on your phone display?
have you checked your sim is it clean is it tightly touching the pins.
just some obvous stuff but its the obvious stuff that often gets me :)
anyway let me know what you discover with that app.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2013Saw this phone on display with a price tag of around USD 44... morethe camera was fixed ages ago (nov.)
the battery is fine everyone whos saying something different either killed there battery by not letting it charge fully the first few times and draining it completely yo make the battery optimal.
or they have crap apps that drain battery.
or they just expect to muhc like 109 hours browsing and video watching thats just not happening in the next 5 years.
active use time is and will be with gaming excluded arround 4 hours.
or the last option is that they have a bad sample of the battery which i find hard to believe.
