A question for anyone in Canada:
This phone is listed as HSDPA 900/1700/2100 and HSDPA 900/1900/2100. If I want the phone work on Mobilicity or Wind's networks, would I need the 900/1700/2100 model? Thanks!

I bought this phone a month back, which is pretty descent for the price.
Battery backup is good, if you switch of WIFI and data services.
Camera quality is good.
Default apps are sufficient for high-level users.
Missing things are Dual Core processor and Nvidia Tegra 2GPU, if it has these both u don't need anything for a high-end phone.
Plays some HD formats mp4,AVI,DivX,XVid,WMV and able to play mkv files smoothly till 480p if the resolution goes beyond you will see some slowness while playing videos.

this is a nice phone but has some drawback.plz clarify me if anything wrong.
1-touch sensitive is not good enough
2-speaker sound is low and not audible for video player,but excellent in headphone.
3-unable to upgrade to gingerbread.and skype works better in gingerbread
4-video files supported by default video player works perfectly,but it supports some file format,video with other format doesnot work smoothly in mobo or v player.(eg-mp4.mkv)
5-battery drains quickly
if anyone having any solution will be apprecited.

Well i got to admit, this phone out of the Box and into your hands will make you marvel at what you have just bought. Performance wise directly from the box, is not so appealing, a lot of stuff on there you don't need and only stress your hardware.
After "20mins" of tweaks, only TWENTY mins, DAMN it's IMPRESSIVE!!!: Recomendations:Root (which i did in less than 4mins), Remove Stock Apps, Replace with The best alternatives available on the Android Market and finally, Install ES Task Manager.
With a few tweeks, i can guarantee you that you'll be the happiest person in the world with your Optimus Black. Battery of course is the only set back, and if you're not able to get by on a "SINGLE" charge a day, I do, intermediate use (skype, facebook, twitter, news and gaming).
Got to admit, you just gotta know how to tweak your phone and as for tweaking, take my word for it, what i did any 7 yr old could do what i did it!!
