AnonD-18573, 23 Aug 2011You are right, it does say user available ram is 478MB in S... moreto correct you, galaxy sl has around 512-600mb ram, its user available ram is 478mb, meaning, way more than OB, my OB shows only 220 mb free after task killer. in galaxy sl, 478 mb FREE. as you will read, it says user available. just like here in OB, it has a 2gb internal memory, 1gb of which is user available

Still no oficial gingerbread update for this phone... you go to their site and search for this phone and it doesn't seem to exist. What is wrong with LG

Sorry that I don't posses neither of these phones and ... moreYou are right, it does say user available ram is 478MB in SL but this is after deducting RAM taken by the Graphics card as the graphics card doesn't use a separate RAM, it uses the same 512mb chip.
Thus the required RAM for android OS and touchWiZ layer and apps will be about as you say 200mb, Which will leave you with just 270MB to 310MB.
This is almost same with case of LG OB. But OB has upper hand with better OMAP Chipset, which gives you better benchmark performance than an SL Chip. So all I can say is that OB is just marginally better with about 5-10% more free memory than Galaxy.

can any owner of lg optimus black can say how is the battery life .. Am going to buy this weekend i will use 1 hour net and 1 hour game and 2 hours song and few calls .. Will it last one day for above usage pls help
