To those who have already upgraded to Gingerbread, is it really not worth it? Because I seem to encounter more cons than pros not only here but in other Optimus Black reviews as well. Is there anyone who actually thinks his/her phone has become much better when he/she updated it to gingerbread?

doniking, 29 Feb 2012if i installed a lot of applications, it last only half day... morei meant it last 1.5days with only few application installed.

if i installed a lot of applications, it last only half day.
by lot i mean really lot of running application like go launcher, go sms, go contacts, live wallpaper, some instant messaging (they ran services), pulse (ran service). juice defender, avast antivirus, Onavo data monitor.
Then now i factor reset it and just installed go sms, it now can last 1.5 hours normal use.
very significant.
Remember, even though applications go "sleep", they are still in RAM. and RAM needs power (battery).
So, uninstall apps you don't use.

AnonD-9973, 28 Feb 2012guys...dont listen to people who don't know the phone well ... moreI do agree, regarding audio ...if u use softwares like equalizer or musicfx ...that enhances the audio quality drastically even on the ear phones u got with the phone...i too get the battery life as u mentioned ...mine is upgraded to gingerbread 2.3.4...and its working just fine ...i have been using this phone for last 6 mnths now...i must say that its worth ...

plz dont go for it.LG people already replaced 2 phones.if u see the design and purchase it,u wil suffer wid the performance.LG already returned my money back as i sent a legal notice from consumer court.

each time I connect my phone and run LG Phone updater, it says your phone is up to date, no need to update!
is there any official English firmware to download?

I need to have Japanese Language in my keyboard preferences. How could I do that? Is it possible that there's an application in the Android Market for this? I love this phone but only for the absence of Japanese language-support, I might trade it for other phone which does. Please help. Thank you.

guys...dont listen to people who don't know the phone well and dont tweak much
am using this phone since a while and battery life is good and it depends on what ROM you are using
(in Zeus gingerbread am getting about 8 hours of continuous play...stand by is much more and normal usage about 1.5 days)
audio quality is aweful with the earphones u get
if you buy a good one its great :) and you can use different audio players to tweak your sound...like power amp!
screen is great and if you see on xda developers...support for this phone is just on it's top!
downside is that there is new quad core phones coming but it does the job and is blazing fast
(fastest in custom roms)
games i've tried work great (asphalt 6 hd...)
i dont really find a downside and its getting ICS ;)

AnonD-30533, 26 Feb 2012very stupid phone without manual hard reset. unlike samsung... morenot true...you can go to recovery mode...just remove battery, connect usb and press volume key :P
and there is recovery physical keys at start if you install custom roms :P
