I went into the store and looked at this phone. I used to have the LG Ally years ago, my favorite phone thus far, unfortunately it was thru Verizon, which I have since boycotted. So I am vey happy to have another phone similar to the Ally. I know LG has clearly not brought their phones to match current expected standards; however for me that is not a problem. I have a Samsung GS3 and it's the 3rd dissapointing Samsung I've had in a row...never again. I will gladly take a smaller screen and a few less specs than the gs3 has. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't care. One thing about LG, compared to other slideout phones, is the quality and durability of the phones. The Ally and F3Q are sturdy and not cheap feeling (I gave my Ally to a friend on Verizon recently. Even after several years, it's still like new condition...quality.) I'll take it!

Phone out today on t-mobile:http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/lg-optimus-f3q.html
I will probably end up buying it given how Rare qwerty phones are. 1st smartphone I had was the Xperia Mini Pro I loved it, but it stopped functioning properly. I ended switching from At&t to Ptel, which uses T-mobile network. I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G. I like the backlit keyboard and bigger screen overall better specs. than my Xperia Mini Pro. However I actually wish Sony would come out with another qwerty. Because the Samsung Relay qwerty is slightly large, I don't have the biggest hands, but really even more bothersome is that the keyboard button aren't nearly as tactile & firm as they can be. The buttons are flat and have to push a little hard to enter. The text predictor also doesn't work in physical keyboard mode. I also like Sony OS better for a number of reasons. Anyhow I hope this LG Optimus F3Q has a backlit keyboard & the buttons feel like that of the Sony Xperia Pro & Mini Pro

Expected something more attractive from LG at a time as this when other companies are producing good looking phones along with good specs.

I'm glad , LG has invented this type of smartphone . I'm the user of xperia pro mk16i and I can't imagine using the smartphone with no keyboard . I hope there will be more qwerty keyboard smartphones and I think to design one as well ;)

At least LG have made a try, albeit not a very good one to meet the needs of those who WANT a keyboard.
So whats so horrible about this keyboard?
you need to say otherwise your comments mean nothing.
Trying to get a quart into a pint bottle never works.
OK if youve got midget hands like most f/e folk, no good at all for those with ~BIG hands.
LG arnt the only ones to ignore this sector of the market.
BB are just as bad, one small size is supposed to fit all.And I thought most Canuks were big people.
A hand set has to do what I want .If it dont, even if it was FREE I wouldnt have it!!
Do you follow?

Michael, 27 Jan 2014HERE WE GO AGAIN!: ---------------- ~The same horrible d... moreOK, show me where the LTE is on the Nokia 520/521. Or the camera flash. Or the hardware keyboard. And at 4 inches, typing on a software keyboard is going to be inaccurate anyway unless you have swype. Or the ability to swap out the virtual keyboard with another one from the app store. Does Windows Phone support that yet, or are they still playing catch up to 2009 Symbian?

HERE WE GO AGAIN!:

~The same horrible design of keyboard!
~Overpriced for a low resolution 4 inch screen, 1gb of RAM and dual core processor (Most of the same spec. phones don't cost more that $200 today, let alone Nokia 520 which is $80 now!)
Why can't LG make a keyboard design which is the same as window's phone virtual keyboard which is designed my Microsoft? Make square size keys and a normal layout so you can type fast and without constantly hitting a coma or period sign by mistake.
