[deleted post]It's designed that way only. Benefit is to save the power and to enhance the clarity in design as well. Although this design is different, you probably would be used to it and would enjoy it later by just multi-tapping and swiping along your finger tip on the key sign :)

LG P715 battery management software doesn't allow the battery to remain at high charge state for more than 2 minutes thus good enough for saving the battery life. The charge level shown actually dips quickly by 15% just to keep the battery not overcharged. Keeping more charge for longer time deteriorates the overall battery life and performance as well. So, a battery with 2460mAh power should ideally be used by charging it to max 85% which means you get around 2000mAh power from 2480mAh battery and it's good enough for sustaining a 12-18 hrs usage of the phone.
