LG service people changed the following settings
auto sync off
data enabled - off
use only 2 g network - on
Back ground data - disabled
use gps satellites - disabled
brightness - reduced to 25%
Service centre people are trying to avoid the issue by changing this settings.
Now my mobile is just like a basic model phone.
Every time I have to change the settings to use them.
what is the fun in having a Android phone without using them.
I have upgraded the firmware as per Neo's post.
LG pls look in to the issue and rectify the same.

LG as per company website talktime on 2G is 15 hours but in reality it is very poor roughly 2 hours talktime.
battery back used to be best in LG, in p500 it is the worst in my last one month experience

Is this normal behavior or is it happening with my phone only??
Google maps detects my location several miles away from m my actual position ie 800km to b be precise......though m able to view the maps easily but not hering an option to view street view at all.........
N drive with gps on works fine and detects my correct location.........

Two ways to change the message notification tone:
1)Open messaging->press menu button->settings->select ringtone
2)On the home screen press the menu button->settings->sound->notification ringtone
For changing theme/wallpaper, go to home screen->press menu button->wallpaper. If you want to apply different themes, then you need another home replacement app such as 'launcherpro','adw launcher','panda home' etc.
