I got this phone yesterday and thus far feeling is gr8. I installed Swype beta and keyboard is excellent...I like it:-) However, need inputs from the experts on some points below:
a) I didnt like the threaded sms view. How do we disable threaded sms view and fall back to conventional sms view?
b) I am not able to manage my sms's!! How do we make
different folders to store sms's?
c) The screen seems to be super sensitive!! Scrolling of screen opens some unwanted things. Is there are way to have a setting which will open applications only when we tap the icon twice (double click)?
d) I think it is by design but wanted to confirm if home screen can be seen in landscape mode? Display
does not auto rotate if I am on home screen or I am on applications menu screen.
Please share your opnions.

I have dificulties to sign in the google account from P500.
Always say can't connect to the google server. I'm using wifi. Anyone can help?

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2010@BoB dude i tried to update but it freezes at 4 percent....... more1st the updater will downlode 126mb file from net then it will update at that time ur phone will be in emergency mode. wait for some time (+-30min). then the phone will switched off automatically. mine after 50% it goes off And after automatic off the updater shows 100% and then finish and exit. so try again.
remember this update relies is only for india
b4r updating cheak ur ver
after updating the ver is [V10c-DEC-08-2010]
if ur phone is alrady V10c then u dont need that update ok.my old software ver was [V10b-OCT-02-2010]

Excellent phone except it doesn't have an option for auto answer when a bluetooth headset is connected!!! Also doesn't have a feature of forwarding messages!!! both are the most basic features available in the cheapest models

@BoB dude i tried to update but it freezes at 4 percent............my phone just shows the yellow screen telling emergency mode

the optimus one seems to be a great phone. How does the satellite wifi work coz a 1GB free internet card is included in the box. And one moe thing is the P500 available in other colours apart from black in india. Neo seems to know the info abt the phne in and out. Thanks in advance.

1.I was hoping i would be free from bollywoodji but end seems to be no whr near... first "Force stop" was done...then exactly followed the steps provided by you...
But after selecting delete and confirmg the action... a message sayin "file cannot be deleted" appears and that app remains infact...so boolywoodji.apk doesnt seems to be going away soon...
pls help dear...
2.Also with point of Email and Dedicated Gmail / Yahoo apps, then better we go with exclusive apps na?
3.And what do you think of apps suggested by WIN about app lauchers?
4.Also one more thing - how do we close browsers in LG O1? back button goes to all earlier pages...
then home button would simply keep browser open in background...and comes to home screen
is there a way whr we can set default web page as "blank"....
i tried when browser is open then menu button (extreme left) -> more -> settings -> Set home page .... but things doesnt works out dear

I purchased this mobile in Rs. 11700 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It has beautiful touch screen sensitivity i have ever seen. speaker sound quality is also good. i guess in such low prize i got all specification with Android 2.2 OS which is also compatible with 2.3. I will write my further experience with this mobile after a month.

For the apps to be removed ,its comes indefault with LG Android,so you will never be able to uninstall through Settings,manage application,
there is another method
1) Use file manager
2) Android root
3)system
4)Apps
5)You will see teh apk file there,long press you would get options to delete,Done!!!!!!
remember to force stop before you carry the above method
Options on notificationa re
1)WIFI 2)Bluetooth 3)GPS Service 4)2G services(EDGE,GPRS),3G services 5) Sound Profils(Mute,active etc)
mail funtions,
Gmail Apps-> as it says only for GMAIL Acc,multiple acc acc can be added
EMAIL->services for other accounts like Yahoo,OutLook,rediff and so on with POP services enabled,again multiple acc and be added in same manner

P500 is wonderful handsets with lots of features and applications. Andriod is 2.2 which is the latest one in India. Excellent processor response. Great screen resolution.
I liked it very much. Also recommend my friends to try it once.

I too have found this lag mainly on Applications main screen...
Also i feel Horizontal scrolling of Apps (like in Samsung G3) is a better idea than vertical scrolling as here sometimes last column (towards right) of Apps screen becomes bit troublesome...scroller comes into effect...though not a major issue...

Hi all...
Request to address these points...
1.Has anyone tried what WIN suggested "download an alternate app launcher in the market (such as ADW or launcher pro). After that, viola! the main menu is responsive as what O1 really supposed to be."
2.In LG india version there is a app called "Bollywoodji"...can someone pls tell me how to uninstall it...its very bugging as am not at all a bollywood fan or follower..
I tried it through -> setting -> applications -> manage applications -> menubar item Running / All, but here Uninstall option is disabled (greyed out). here "force stop" works but when App is selected from Application screen or when phone is switched on the Force stop gets deactivated and again this app fetches stupid bollywood news...
I also tried to unintsall this application from Application screen -> menu butoon -> uninstall but gives message in pop up sayin "Selected item cannot be un installed"...
so pls help me to fix this Boolywoodji app
3.from home screen when i press menu button (extreme left) and select notifications from white popup i get a notification screen...here on top there are 5 icons..can some one pls tell me what is the (left to right)significance of third (center) one and fourth one....
could ascertain others...first is wifi, second is bluetooth and fifth is silent or ringtone
4. Also what is diff between exclusive "Gmail" app and "Email" app...as later has provision for all other email account too, including gmail...
so to use this do i need to configure is again as account configured through "Gmail" app is not listed or visible in "Email" -> Google Mail list...
or its better to use decidated and exclusive Gmail or Yahoo mail apps?
