The cricket version is a little bit higher end than the boost version, so one may have something, such as the gyroscope which is needed for AR mode, while the other does not.

Personally I don't think there's any point in playing without it that's why I'm trying to find if it really doesn't work or if people aren't realizing they have to turn it on...
Apparently it works even faster without AR mode.

Main question I have. Even if this phone will not work in AR mode for Pokémon Go, will it still play the game smoothly and let me view the Pokémon in the other mode? I'm not even concerned about AR mode. That is all I need to know. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You do not need a gyroscope to play. You only need it for AR but that increases the power drain on your battery.

Does this phone have snap chat? I currently have a windows phone and a huge bummer is that there isn't snap chat.
