I bought this phone recently - The biggest mistake I ever made!! I have been impressed by the features but stupid 3 australia wont unlock it!!I want it unlocked because I really dont like 3au services. The people are rude and I wish I could go back to vodafone. I cannot get it unlocked anywhere. I am praying it will come soon, because I cant afford for a $400 phone to sit there and then have to turn around and buy a new phone... a bit of advice, really research the carriers first.

I use my phone frequently and the battery life is fine. FOR THOSE WHO ARE HAVING TROUBLE CONNECTING PHONE TO PC: After connecting the phone and starting up the phone manager, if you can not find the ** in any of the ports, turn your phone off then on again while connected. It should then work.

Hi, I was trying to connect my phone using bluetooth to the PC's desktop software to no avail, I think the com port is correct (it's 14 on my computer), having switched on the bluetooth on both the PC and the phone, I choose the com port on the phone, clicked "Connect" on "LG Phone Manager", the PC thinks for a while and then said it failed. Any ideas? Thanks.

follow these steps to connect your phone to your pc:
                        1. attach usb cable to phone
                        2. connect to the pc. make sure phone is in standby mode - meaning no running programs
                        3. open 'lg phone manager'
                        4. click 'Contents' on th left window
                        5. click 'Transfer' then 'Set COM Port.' if u followed these steps correctly, you can see that the default port is marked with '*'. Select it and select USB as well. click ok.
                        6. click on 'Transfer' again and then finally 'Connect'
                        7. phone is now connected
Please make sure that before you follow these steps, the necessary software is already installed on your pc. have fun.

Hey! Well I have to say this is the best phone I have ever gotten but one problem....how do you download music from your computer to the phone. I have read all the posts but none have helped me. The message keeps on saying the "COM" is incorrect and it has failed or something. Can you email me please?

in response to jenny and the others who don't know how to transfer files from phone to pc & vice versa...

you need to put the software onto your computer, plug in the data cable, open up 'phone manager' and click 'connect' (top left corner). double click on a folder with music you want to transfer, and the files should appear in the window on the top right side... click and drag the files one by one into the "sounds" folder in the 'lg phone' folder in the list on the left. I know this sounds terribly confusing, but its really simple once you actually do it.

                              Cheers

I have had this phone for around 6 weeks now, i bought it in black. I have owned Ericssons, Nokias, Nec's, and Motorolas and the u880 comes in at the top of my list. The battery life is terrific, lasting me around 3 days on medium use. The graphics are sensational. The only downfall i can think of is that the camera does not perform too well in low light. It has huge memory which is astounding considering its size. It can take videoo up to 60 minutes! It has a lot of options for personalisation. Absolutely love this phone and would highly recommend it.

I got the roberto cavalli edition of the U880 on saturday, and im in love. the pic quality is great, sound quality rocks, and the software is really easy to use (to transfer files etc). i do have one question... on the phone there is a feature where u can make your own GIF animation... ive done this but all the GIF's come out really tall and skinny... why is this and how can i fix it?

                                    Cheers

Great phone. Problems when syncing with MS Outlook that after a few synchs the phone wants to add back all the contacts and duplicate them. Any ideas?

I got this phone about 2 months ago and its terrible...it won't hold a charge, randomly switches off, doesn't turn on, doesn't play noises when i get a msg...just to name a few! Boo hiss boo, LG!
