The next smartphone I buy will be IP68. I'm hoping it will be the already rugged V2O. If it's not, I will be stuck with a SamGal Note 7. I am flexible with all the other specs, not with IP68. IP68 gives a phone better odds of survival against soaking surprise rain, heavy dew on the shrubbery, and sweaty pockets. A waterproof case is absurd and unacceptable because it covers the camera lens. I would rather put a non-waterproof rugged case on non-rugged IP68 phone to keep the camera lens unobstructed. Modern smartphones are so expensive that it would be foolish to invest in a non-IP68 unit. All smartphone manufacturers should IP68 their product to ensure longevity. Longevity equates with quality, which enhances brand reputation. Every other product we buy intended for outdoor use has its operational components waterproofed, smartphones should also be, more especially so because they are electrical.

I really wish that the V10 and G5 switched places and cameras. The V10 looks very much like the G series and I wished that it had dual cameras on the back because let's face it, you're not going to need stainless steel sides to take a selfie. You're probably climbing a tree or something to capture a wide angle sunset. The G5 looks like a phone that most people would use as a day to day basis phone for general purposes, not just the camera but would probably use the dual front cameras their potential.

If all thats true we might have a winner

I would like to have a LG phone which is rugged like Galaxy s7 active because I don't want to use any covers with a 800 nits of brightness and a 4000+ mh battery infrared blaster.

Hoping lg will not betray itself by putting a battery that is less than 4000mAh. Lg g5 did not succeed because of its battery.
