There's no Pie for the V20. LG did not even update many other LG V20 H990DS regional variants to Oreo. -ESA-xx in particular was never updated to Oreo. LG mobile is bankrupt. It has pulled out from many countries.

Don't expect Pie as LG can't even provide Oreo to many LG V20 H990DS variants which it ABANDONED with Nougat 7.0, the original software it launched with in 2016. LG mobile division is on the path of TOTAL EXTINCTION and COMPLETE IRRELEVANCE with this kind of HORRIBLE and MOST HORRENDOUS software update support in the entire mobile industry bar NONE.

My LG V20 is still not upgraded to Oreo. Its from PHL with ESA software. LG might have mislook this version, only PHL and Vietnam LG V20 have no OREO up to now.

V20V30user, 08 Feb 2019I owned a Korean V20 (F800L) model. Guess I'm going to stay... moreNo. Directional tuning is the same in Nougat and Oreo. You can manually adjust directivity and employ wind noise filter both in Nougat and after update to Oreo. It's only the maximum 4K video bit rate that's changed. HD audio recorder settings and features also practically the same in Nougat and Oreo. You can manually set sampling rate as high as 192khz both in Nougat and after update to Oreo.

V20V30user, 08 Feb 2019Thanks for the feedback bro. What about video bitrate in ma... moreIt's the same. It's 64Mbps in highest quality 4K setting in Nougat (manual mode or auto mode) but only 52Mbps maximum bitrate (highest quality setting) once updated to Oreo (manual mode or auto mode). No way to get back to 64 Mbps once you update to Oreo. You save on storage space though but frankly, the bitrate downgrade is a bummer. Micro sd card storage is already very cheap - $80 for Sandisk 400gb at Amazon.com so the 20% maximum bit rate reduction is just stupid. It takes a toll on 4K video quality because the reduction is not due to use of the more storage efficient HEVC/H.265 video format.

Guess I'm going to stay in 7.0 if this happens in all variant. I have a V30 (H9330DS) and yes, in video mode if you want a better audio, shoot with the V30. Otherwise, use the V20. Did they remove the ability to tune directional too in Oreo?

V20V30user, 06 Feb 2019Hey guy! Anyone updated their unit to Oreo? Did battery lif... moreNo more 64Mbps 4K video in Oreo. After my V20's Oreo update (H990DS, - AME-XX variant), maximum 4K video bit rate went down from 64Mbps to 52mbps.

My other V20 still has 7.0 Nougat (H990DS - ESA-xx variant). It and many other H990DS variants were ABANDONED by LG and left with Nougat 7.0 - the exact SAME android version the phones launched with, MORE THAN 2 years ago. LG SUCKS BIG TIME!

On the good side of things, having no Oreo update means I get to retain the highest quality 4K video setting: 64Mbps which looks better than the 52Mbps in V29's updated to Oreo.

Excel, 26 Jan 2019Have anyone used it to connect to any tv?Yes. The V20 can do both wireless screenshare (wifi direct) and wired slimport connection. I use those features almost everyday for presentations and for viewing offline downloaded movies on my big screen TV. My 200GB micro sd card slot is almost filled up with Netflix and Google Play Movies offline HD downloads. While wireless screen share is works well with the LG V20 and any smart TV or an older TV with a screen share adaptor, I prefer wired slimport connection as it produces the best movie quality in terms of sharpness, detail, fluidity and resolution. I might upgrade to a 400GB micro sd card soon to fit all my media and other digital files in my V20. The best thing about the V20 is that it has dual sim + dedicated micro SD card slot so you don't have to sacrifice the second SIM slot for a micro SD card slot if you are fond of movie watching.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2019Recently, I am facing a homescreen freeze, any help?Remove the battery and restart the phone. If it keeps on freezing still, replace your micro sd card with a brand new, genuine class 10 micro sdxc card. Also check phone's internal storage. Transfer files if it is nearly full until internal storage is no more than 60% full. If the phone still freezes, do factory reset and install all software updates before adding apps from playstore. Allow all software and app updates to be completed. If still freezing after factory reset and after doing everything else above, send your phone to an LG service center.
