i bought a new V20 to use it as a music player. I'm glad that i don't have to use it as my main device. Compared to any of the Pixels, this phone is painfully laggy, would break it into a wall. But as a music player it does a decent job, best price/quality ratio for that matter for sure.

Both my LG G5 and LG V20 still work great. Wonderful devices with the sFilter app eliminating the ghosting for good. Haven't seen any in nearly a month. Too bad my Essential Phone arrived and the honeymoon phase is in full swing. Completely overshadowed both my LG phones and iPhone SE.

Reason being is Android Pie runs so well on it. Once you try Pie, you never could go back to older software. And it's probably better off sticking to the Pixel line forever because other brands will be lucky if they get two major updates. Matias Duarte finally put webOS officially on Android with his Card UI.

Both my LG phones will probably lasts longer than the Essential though thanks to removable battery, microSD slot (lessen the wear on the emmc), and just easier to open up and fix. Having IR blaster is a nice bonus.

att h910 model. just got oreo.
                    battery drainage just as bad.
                    maybe gps quicker lock
bluetooth still needs manually connect for paired device
                    what's improvement? i don't see any
                    just a name change

Had the phone for a year and a half and love it, one of the last phones that has removable battery, ir blaster which i use everyday, and a nice 5.7 2k resolution screen. Only downside up to date is my bluetooth that disconnects for no reason ( factory reset about a year after my purchase helped it) and a pretty shitty battery (fyi disable ok google will help it a lot) but like i said, its a removable battery, so either buy 3 or go overkill like i did and buy a ZeroLemon 10000 m/AH battery 60 buck = shipping etc and i got a phone that last 2-3 days minimum. Personally I fell in love with its second screen which i use daily. Enjoy this beauty of a phone :p

P.S my H-915 canadian model got oreo last month, I must admit that they've been cheap with updates, passed 1 year w/o any update and droped oreo out of nowhere

X, 25 Aug 2018It works for LG-H990ds?? H990N is dual SIM version for Hongkong market. It has basically the same hardware as the global H990DS dual SIM version. Theoretically, it should be compatible with H990DS models except that some LTE bands may be disabled and that the availability of supported languages may be limited compared to the global H990DS version.

No bootloop issue. No image retention.
Without hesitation you can buy quietly the V20.

Anonymous, 02 Sep 2017Ridiculous. My G4 also has a removable battery, dual SIM, ... moreIt was Apple who started this battery mess. Samsung even mocked them on their wallhugger ad for the Galaxy s5.

And then Sammy released the Galaxy s6 with sealed battery and continued to do so despite the Note 7 disaster.

LG has shunned any updates for the international versions. Avoid any LG phone unless you are Korean. Yucks.

Can we use substratum theme on LG v20 oreo? Anyone has tried?

I use sFilter PRO and the image retention never returned for BOTH my LG G5 and V20. I can now use that gray wallpaper that matches nicely with my silver G5.

Both 2016 LG flagships which were the last flagships to offer removable battery are two of my favorite smartphones of all-time. Even if I never use them again as my main phones, I can use both as my TV remote for many more years...

I'm planning to use the Essential Phone as my daily driver for the next two years so I can prolong the life of my G5 and V20. Lesser usage, lesser battery charges can help prolong phones to live longer. That's why it's great to rotate between multiple phones and have a throwaway like the Moto E4. Lessen the mileage for each of them.
