MLAVRA, 12 Aug 2018I apologize, the question might be stupid but what is the d... moreThe apps mentioned (sfilter/blue light filter) enable you to apply a variable intensity color dithering/color filter to the LCD screen with a chosen specific color (color temperature or hue), with variable opacity and at the same time enable you to limit the maximum brightness the LCD screen is capable of to avoid retention. The filtering apps mentioned are normally used like the built in 'comfort view' of the V20, but in the specific issue mentioned here, they are not being used as such. Rather, they arevused to prevent screen retention in some defective LG V20 screens that is why the settings are very conservative (0%-5% filter intensity or opacity to avoid having noticeable color shifts in tge LCD's white balance), and 3-5% screen dimming or reduction of 'brightness of screen'. LCD behaves differently from amoled in that any color dithering applied is averaged over the entire panel thus effectively eliminating screen retention at the proper settings. Reducing overall brightness of a defective screen retaining LCD screen does not correct the retention problem because it is an excessive contrast/brightness issue brought about by poor quality control. You need the apps mentioned to be able to eliminate ghosting/image/screen retention in defective V20 screens. I'm not so lucky to have a V20 with screen retention. My other V20 does not have any ghosting/retention and thus have no need dor sFilter or Blue Light Filter app mentioned here.

Especially now, with OREO (seems that we'll finally get it) where there are more options with the 'comfort view'?
I am (so far) on the lucky side, no screen retention after one year of using V20 so I cannot test it myself.

Chudo, 11 Aug 2018Tracking down all the comments on the web,I came to conclus... moreIt's plausible but not all B&O versions are affected. Rimac has two B&O V20's and none of them had screen retention. I have two V20's, one B&O version and another non-B&O version. My non-B&O version had no screen retention/ghosting problems even after hours of use but my B&O version had visible retention in 30minutes if I don't use sFilter app. After examining background data use of sFilter app in my B&O V20, I seem to be in agreement with other users who reported suspicious background activity. I can see it uses more background data than my weather apps, news apps and Facebook messenger, although developer attributes it to ads. It's still weird though because its background data use is 12x higher than its foreground data use and you only see ads when it's in the foreground.

I have just replaced sFilter app. with 'Blue Light Filter app' by 'Leap Fitness Group' and use the following settings: Night Mode: toggle 'ON', Color temperature: 4500K (Tap 'sun and clouds' icon and tap 'OK' when prompted it is not good for sleeping), Intensity: 0%, Screen dim: 3%, Set auto timer: toggle 'OFF' and Notification bar: toggle 'OFF'. It works the same as sFilter app and much simpler to set up and use too with no suspicious activity.

Tracking down all the comments on the web,I came to conclusion that the ghosting affects mostly the B&O branded LG V20,and not the generic ones.Anybody can confirm my theory?I own the B&O one and the ghosting is very annoying.I have it all the time...even the 10 seconds of anything staying on the display leaves a trail on it

Boys and girls, has anyone been able to find a way to charge a large replacement battery externally? (like zerolemon 10k or perfine 10.5k)
I got two perfine10.5k batteries but I'm only able to charge them through the phone. I got a supposedly good external charger with 4.2v, 450 mA output but it seems to take too much time. I could only charge less than 20% for more than 2 hrs with it.
The phone's charger does charge the huge battery very quickly but that's still a few hours in which I cannot use the phone because it's charging in the other room.
Any ideas how to charge externally?

I am on Oreo now, its really good and fresh look, better than Nouget, many people saying in this forum that Oreo makes Battery life much better than previous, but i didn't notic yet better performance by battery, after update i reset my phone to avoid bugs and errors, and i thought resetting device will be make battery life better as other users saying, but after reset i saw many other better performances by V20 except battery life.. :(
Anyway other things are really performing well than past, over all Good update but not the best...
