My LG v30 plus is also 10 months old but its working fine, I think I'm gonna sell it as soon as possible. My last flagship smartphone was Samsung Galaxy note 4 and that also died with-in 12 months, Samsung India repaired my phone for free and I sold that also straight away after repair, but even after repair it was sold for a reasonable price and now you can buy a brand new LG V30 plus smartphone for less price in market. LG phones doesn't carry a great resell value.
Yours Lg v30 plus is going to die in a matter of time, so don't waste time and take it to LG service center.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2019I bought LG V30+ a month ago. It's a very good phone, the S... moreI am truly impressed with my LG V30+ Bang & Olufsen (B&O) edition smartphone. As on 20th Jan, 2019 I bought this phone spending INR 23,249 without any exchange from an e-commerce website after heavy discounts. After spending few months with this phone I must admit it punches way above its current asking price in both build quality & performance. V30+ was LG's 2018 flagship and it looks and feels like a flagship in 2019. It is manufactured in Korea and you get bundled B&O earphones with this package.

BUILD QUALITY: V30+ has all the hallmarks of a true flagship and combines quality and in-built durability to deliver a real-life premium smartphone experience. Just by holding the phone I can feel the quality, superior craftsmanship and distinctive design. It amazes me to see the precise attention to the finest details like harmonizing the rounded edges on the screen bezel with the corners of the phone to offer a compact, pocketable experience while having a big 6 inch display. At V30+ core is the strength of an H-Beam metal frame carved out from single block of aluminum. Mind you the frame is not made by stamping process which is easier and cheaper but 3D CNC machined from a single metal block. It can even take nearly an hour to precision mill & carve out the desired shape of the frame out of the metal block. This results in a perfect pillowed body that flows seamlessly into the sculpted front & back 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while being robust enough to endure life's everyday knocks. With this level of visual and structural quality it is no wonder V30+ meets the MIL-STD-810G military drop & shock resistance standards. V30+ also comes with true IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and can withstand up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. So even if I operate the phone at pouring rain I have the peace in mind there will be no water damage. I love my phone's (silver color variant) classic design, understated looks, compactness while bringing robust structural integrity, attention to detail and the quality of a high-end flagship to everyone at such a low price.

DISPLAY: For V30+, LG uses its own in-house developed 6 inch notch-less P-OLED panel with modern 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is of Quad HD resolution but you can scale it down to FullHD from phone settings if you want more battery life. I always keep it at max resolution. A big positive is the display is HDR-10 ready which means you can enjoy brighter videos with crisper details and richer colors. V30+ display is 0.3 mm wider than LG G7 display and provides more immersive gaming & video content experience. Personally with my unit I experienced no graininess or color shift in the display. Benefits of OLED over LCD are obviously lower power consumption & less display heat. All in all, it's not the best display, but it is high-res, bright (upto 616 nits), vibrant, has nice blacks which I enjoy a lot.

LG UX: Needless to say, V30's user interface (LG UX 6) is well thought, designed & optimized overlay on top of Android Oreo while delivering smooth & lag-free user experience. I have no complaints against LG's custom UI, however just like any other custom skin it may not be to everybody's taste. The amount of customized features hidden under tons of sub menus is just insane on LG's UI. LG is very slow in rolling out software updates but we are confirmed Android Pie is due by Q2, 2019.

SNAPDRAGON 835: V30+ ships with last year's Qualcomm flagship, but remember it still is the third best SoC out there after SD845 & Kirin 980. Flagship SoCs are powerful enough to breeze through any app for next 5 years, so SD835 is plenty powerful. And yes, SD835 will throw SD710 out of the water in terms of both CPU & GPU performance. V30+ main price-wise competitors usually come with SD710 like Nokia 8.1. Saying that both SD835 & newer SD845 uses same 10 nm manufacturing process which denotes both are very power efficient & provide great battery life. For gaming I played PUBG & Asphalt 9 at highest graphic settings on my V30+ and even after two hours of continuous game-play the phone showed no signs of stutter or frame drops. I believe the clever integration of a copper heat pipe integrated to metal chassis did wonders here and absorbed & dispersed heat away from SD835 to minimize any risk of overheating. This greatly improved my sustained gaming experience. Also the use of OLED instead of regular LCD panel resulted in less display heat. Mix in 4 GB of latest LPDDR4x RAM with 128 GB of ultra-fast UFS 2.1 flash storage my V30+ becomes a multitasking king with blazing fast read & write speeds.

CAMERA: V30+ always had excellent camera hardware to challenge other flagships from Samsung or Apple on the open. I find the rear camera module pretty interesting and it seems LG have put a lot of thought & effort behind the specs & materials used there. The main rear camera uses a high quality Sony IMX351 sensor with 16 MP resolution. The sensor is a 10-bit HDR Image Sensor to detect more colors for better color accuracy and it supplemented with big, bright F1.6 lens. The most interesting part is the first lens of the 6 lens configuration is glass rather than plastic allowing more light to enter the sensor. The main camera supports all kinds of stabilization, both OIS & EIS for still pictures and shooting videos. The second rear camera is a 13MP wide angle lens, unfortunately not supporting any kind of stabilization. Saying that I love the wide-angle camera as it covers so much area in a single shot. The pictures shot with default camera app turns out great with good amount of detailing, excellent contrast and in having well balanced exposure. Additionally, side-loading Google Camera app from XDA forums and using Google's HDR+ image processing routines improves picture quality to near Google Pixel 2 XL level!!! Videos upto 4K@30fps are supported by the rear camera and the best I have personally seen on any phone. The front 5 MP wide angle selfie camera is adequate at best though it could have been better.

All in all for the price tag of around INR 23K after discounts, V30+ is a no-brainier and is the best smartphone you can buy. Just go for it.

                AUDIO
                ---------
Music lovers rejoice as V30+ retains the ubiquitous 3.5 mm headphone jack and true Hi-Fidelity audio, courtesy to an in-built audiophile grade 32-bit ESS Sabre ES9218P (DAC + Audio Amplifier) chip. Hands down this is the best audio DAC a phone can have. It also pleases me to find LG have made some genuine efforts, unheard in the smartphone industry to keep the audio as pure as possible through different layers of the software stack to the 3.5 mm jack. Sound signature through the audio jack is of typical ESS fashion with precise airy highs, mids with excellent vocal timbre but lacking a little warmth while lows are tight & controlled. Plug in headphones of over 50 ohms impedance and you are greeted with more gain (increase in volume) with the audio amplifier providing more juice to drive even hard to drive headphones. The stock music player is very easy to use while supporting high quality audio files upto 32-bit@384kHz PCM & DSD256 formats. For critical listening I always prefer full sized cans over earphones. But that's my choice so others may vary. With V30+, I generally prefer to use my Brainwavz HM5 for critical listening. These cans are of 64 ohms impedance and the sound quality is phenomenal when paired with V30+. These neutral sounding over-the-ear closed-back headphones provide precise instrumental and vocal details throughout the entire sound spectrum with awesome stereo separation. Bass heads beware as HM5 are made for studio monitoring hence you get just the amount of bass as the music director intended. For causal listening I go for Cowon EK2 in-ear earphones. EK2 is one of the few earphones where I experienced the openness which is generally associated with open-backs. Well detailed and composed EK2 to me beats headphones twice or thrice its price. V30+ supports latest Bluetooth 5.0, hence great Bluetooth range with headphones. Supplemented with in-built Qualcomm's aptx HD & Sony's LDAC support the phone can now transmit high-res 24-bit audio over Bluetooth rather than mundane 16-bit found on almost all phones. If you own a complaint Bluetooth headphone like Sony MDR-1000X you can now hear the difference in audio quality. The list does not end here as V30+ also supports Master Quality Audio (MQA), so if you use audio streaming apps like Spotify or Tidal you now get even better audio quality with MQA mastered tracks. In short LG have made V30+ any audiophiles go to dream toy and have packed it to the gills to satisfy any music lover.

                BATTERY
                -------------
On paper the 3,300 mAh battery isn't small by today's standards, but it's not record-breaking either. That said battery life has been great. So much so, in fact, that with my heavy use in a day I haven't actually managed to bring the handset to the point where it shows up at 20% left. The supplied Qualcomm QC 3.0 certified wall charger is rated at 16.2 watts (9V, 1.8A) max and supports fast charging. After the recent Samsung Note battery fiasco LG seems to have dived deep to keep the battery healthy & safe on long term basis. Hence in V30+, LG has implemented Qnovo's latest adaptive charging technology (QNI) at hardware level. Note that not many phones implement this licensed & expensive technology and as far as I know only two brands Sony & LG are ones who use them on their flagship phones. However the latest QNI technology from Qnovo's stable can only be implemented on phones using Snapdragon 835 onwards, as it requires hardware support from the SoC. Once you put the V30+ into charging using the supplied wall charger, QNI with the help of SD835 measures & monitors the battery for nearly 20,000 times (that's right!!!) on a single charge to deliver the optimum charging power load to the battery at any point of time. This ensures fast charging without the expense of sacrificing battery lifespan and ensures longevity. Results are astounding with 0 to 50% charge in 32 mins, 0 to 75% in 47 mins, 0 to 85% in 60 mins, 0 to 90% in 68 mins & 0 to 100% in 102 mins flat. V30+ also supports USB-PD however the charging speeds are identical to QC-3 supplied wall charger. You also get fast wirelesses charging built in.

All in all for the price tag of around INR 23K ($330) after discounts, V30+ is a no-brainier and is the best smartphone you can buy. Just go for it.

                    "Camera Shutter Sound and Regions:
So, I'm from Australia and my camera never makes a sound when I take photos. However, I'm currently travelling in Japan and noticed that my camera kept making a shutter sound. I did some research and found that in some countries, it's mandatory for the camera to make a sound when taking a photo."

So, this is enforced by government laws.

                    The solution to this is:
                    1) Install OpenCamera(uncheck sound option) or GoogleCamera(check reddit for V30 specific discussions you will get stable APK from there. Then disable sound).
                    2) Try changing the region of your phone, it disables sound for other manufacturers not sure about LG. If it is coded in driver level for regional softwares then it might not disable.

But my V30 is as smooth as my friends iPhone 8. Maybe you got a defective product but rest all other points regarding the cameras, speakers, etc are invalid. The only con I noticed is the selfie camera is not upto the flagship level. But the rear cameras were among the best even in early 2018 and even now it's the best in the 20k to 25k range at it's current pricing in India and not to mention to the iPhone 8 costs twice as much the V30.

As i was not in a mood to spend more bucks behind apple products so was looking for a year or two years old high end android phones which i was hoping to get in bargain rates like V30. On other side i watched many reviews before buying it. Surprisingly almost reviews make me urged to buy this device! I bought and the nightmare started! Trust me bro, it is no were near to iOS device! Android is not that smooth and fluid as iOS devices are. Its camera hugely disappointed me. I literally stopped shooting the pics but luckily i got a chance to sold it in 19K and bought the iPhone 8 plus 256 in a special rate of 69K.

Jep, 30 May 2019Nope bro! It was nightmare! I switched from iOS to android ... moreSwitching OS is personal choice like for me IOS is really pain to operate.

                            About your opinion on:
Lagging - no, it never, rather it is better than iPhone 8. Tell us more like where and how it lagged? It never happened with anyone unless you installed some bad application which screwed the device. I can do that in IOS too all you need is run some code on the main threads and freeze the UI so it depends on the application developer mostly, how well they built.

Camera - It has one of the best camera in market better than iPhone. I no more carry my expensive mirrorless cameras on trips.
Also, if one knows how to operate manual modes for both still and videography then you can create wonders because by the time you adjust expensive DSLRs/Mirrorless this little beast has done its work. I have created some amazing concert 4K videography with this which records dual channel sound in HD.

Front camera - It is decent enough not that something which is terrible bad. Even front camera clicks great pictures unless you are looking to hide your wrinkles/scars.

Ear speaker - No comments, as for me it is fairly loud rather I need to have it at around 60-70% if the call is on Duo/VoLTE

If somebody gives me an option(in my dreams) to take any one device for free among(iPhone 8 and LG V30), well I'll choose iPhone8(yes you heard it right) and trade it back in market to get two LGV30s and gift second one to my parents ;) That's how good this device is. Because lot of devices with great specs come and go in market but exceptional piece of hardware, software, battery are rare to find. Even LG V40 is not that up to the mark.
