User opinions and reviews

The desire to have user replaceable batteries, headphone ports (separate from charging port), expandable storage and screens with no obstruction whatsoever will always be around and never go extinct.  The same goes for affordable prices.  If you want consumers to embrace notches and holepunches... start putting them on TV screens and movie theater screens first.  If you want headphone ports to disappear... stop the manufacturing of wired headphones first.  If you want expandable storage to be "obsolete" ...start making affordable smartphones with Terabyte capacities and test to see how consumers react.  Change is inevitable.  The issue is who benefits from said change and more importantly, who loses.  It seems ridiculous to conceive such notions, doesn't it ?  I went crazy and insane when user replaceable batteries were no longer available in flagship tier smartphones.  I kept wanting and looking month after month, year after year and the "results" have not changed.  I still can't find a flagship tier smartphone with user replaceable batteries. So go ahead and 'Tech Smack' me with your replies... if you do, you prove you're just as crazy as me.

Notch alert. Brands are going for a total bezel-less design, or going for either a waterdrop notch or a cutout notch.
LG, like HTC are always behind and are always losing market because they don't follow the trend. Much like Sony now.
Look how big of an impact oneplus phones have nowadays.

poor LG 4 years ago they almost have leadership.
Now look at them, whata disappointment poor LG.
I miss that awesome LG G4 it was great.

I have the V40 and I really like it, also had the V20. When this comes out I plan to get my wife the V40 at big price reduction. We will use them till they are old and then by the V50 at a discount. We always buy one generation back flagship for a lower price. I prefer that over the newest mid grade phone.

I got one LG in the past (before 2010) and someday thr display just stopped to work...then I swore that i will never buy a LG phone again.
Of course, this was another time and this kind of issue is very rare nowadays.
From the specs, this phone looks really great. The hardware for the camera is promising but I have doubts about the software and the AI. Battery has always been a problem for LG phones but this one gets apparently a bigger battery size...
Let's see when it is on the market.

I'll buy this phone in 2020 when it's around $400. Happy with my V35.

Riddle : If a smartphone that has a sealed/non user replaceable lithium battery with an IP68 rating can be charged both via wire and wirelessly... why can't that technology be applied to just the battery itself ?
Create a battery with a Qi coil and make the battery waterproof as well as making the smartphone (with battery removed) IP68 rated. Is that technological advancement ? ? Whadduya ThinQ LG ?

Hope the 4000mah on this thing means it can rival the LG V30 for battery life.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2019I think the battery is irrelevant unless you are power user... moreHey, for Power Users, just buy extra batteries, I use my V20 extensively and it beats the hell out of being connected. I have 4 batteries for mine and its so convenient and will likely need 2 batts more just in case. Or we can all get those aftermarket branded extra cap cases ranging around 5-10k mah. Whether the phone will get hot, remains to be seen. Some cells have issues like that. Removable Batteries..are the shit, wish they'd turn back to that trend.

Now this is worthy successor of my V20 that is serving me well since 2016, of course on the aftermarket extended battery. Only if they introduce the IR blaster, it would be icing on the cake.

In either case, LG has a customer ready to upgrade.

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2019Lg v50 and v40 has same cameras in specifications is it tru... moreWhat is if I tell you hardware wise the specifications for the V40 camera was same as the S9+ except the ultrawide camera and now the V50 has them same as the S10 Also S9+ same as S10 and V40 same as V50 even the G8 is same. So in a nutshell the S9+, S10, G8, V40 and V50 camera hardware is similar but the Samsung S series have better image quality than the V40 and G8 due to the better image processing now is LG improves the processing for the V50 it can be better than the V40 and could reach the S10 level too.
