Marc Jacobs releases Riley Touchscreen watch with Android Wear

Peter, 05 June 2018

Marc Jacobs has released an Android Wear version of it Riley watch (the original was a hybrid). Details are a little messy right now as it seems that retailer Target has mixed up the specs of the smart and the hybrid Riley watches.

Anyway, the Marc Jacobs Riley Touchscreen sports a 1.19” AMOLED display, the casing measures 42 mm. It’s made of aluminum and is available in Black, Gold/White and Rose Gold/Cement color options. The wrist straps are made of silicon on all versions.

Battery capacity is not listed, but officially it should last 24 hours and charges fully in 2 hours. The usual Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset is used, no word on RAM and storage (the norm is 512 MB / 4 GB).

The Riley Touchscreen is IP67 water resistant and features activity tracking. It doesn’t seem to have a heart rate sensor, however.

The pricing of $295 seems a bit steep, but if it sounds reasonable to you, you can grab one from the official Marc Jacobs site or Target. The retailer also lists a “Black with Blitz” version for $350 that is not available on the official site.

WearOS not Android Wear.

Bros, if you have a fashion-sensed girlfriend or wife, you'll already know the Marc Jacobs logo and design are worth $250 of that $295 price tag. It may not be the best but the ladies will go for it. Score for fashion smart watches I guess? Haha.
