MediaTek and AMD announce RZ600 series Wi-Fi 6E chips

Alongside the brand-new Dimensity 9000 flagship smartphone chipset, MediaTek and AMD unveiled a pair of Wi-Fi 6E chips meant for laptops and PCs dubbed AMD RZ600 series.The pair uses MediaTek Filogic 330P chipset at the helm and supports 2×2 Wi-Fi 6 (2.4/5GHz) and Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz band up to 7.125GHz) at speeds up to 2.4Gbps and at 160MHz channel bandwidth on the AMD RZ616.

AMD RZ608 does up to 1.2Gbps and transmits at up to 80MHz channel bandwidth. Both new Wi-Fi chips also come with power amplifier (PA) and low noise amplifier (LNA) technology for optimal power consumption.

The new AMD RZ600 series Wi-Fi 6E chips will be found in upcoming Ryzen-based PCs and laptops in 2022.
