Also, maybe the Infinity name is because of the bezel-less screen since we have been on that time. Although I still don't see the extra features to be worth the price, the phone definitely is a looker bcs of that screen.

The most interesting new technology is in the front facing camera. If you are familiar with OnePlus, Oppo and Vivo, they are all working with some new insane quick Autofocusing lens. OnePlus showcased this in 21, and called it Human eye bionic lens, and told about the AF-speed faster than 1 millisecond.

Well, looks like Meizu came with this revolutionary lens-technology first!

I have got the link for the OnePlus-showcase of this:

If you look at the flyer from the developer of the selfie-shooter tunable optical lens, the TLens does instant Autofocus in the range from 10 cm to infinity. Maybe this is the idea for the name of the model?

Either way, I'm sure the costs of engineering bezels that thin are ridiculous. It truly is the bleeding edge of display tech.

The weight in GSMArena spec sheet doesn't scream titanium of stainless steel unlike Apple weights.

The only thing I can see is the bezels being thinner, but is it even worth the 200% price of fhe pro? + less mp for the cams?

I don't really know, but if this is anyone's cup of tea, I think they'd just buy it for the screen.

Ra-Iri, 31 Mar 2023What materials and new technology are we talking about? If ... moreIt's heavier, so as outlined by other commenters the frame is likely either steel or titanium (don't know about this second one)
It has an under display camera, which is an experimental technology.
Thinner bezels increases engineering costs substantially, if you don't want to pay for that I understand, but they have to charge at the very least what it cost them to develop and make the phone, both of which cost significantly more with thinner bezels.

MRSTEK, 31 Mar 2023Because it is intended to be bundled with LYNK&CO'... moreso like.. if anyone bought their electric car, that means they get free smartphone??

This device will be most selling of Meizu Devices. But It the Rear & front Camera would have some recent improvement then it might get Best selling Meizu Device of Meizu.

please review this phone, GSMArena !

Also where in the article is the experimental technology that you mentioned? To answer your question, yes. It is not obvious.

Cyclonite, 31 Mar 2023There's no official answer to this question. However, ... moreNot worth it imo. The bezel-less screen for 200% of the price of the Pro variant, but with worse cameras, is too much.

The Pro variant is a better choice for this now. Maybe they should add better software gimmicks for this price to work at all.

Ra-Iri, 30 Mar 2023Why is this priced higher when it has worse specs than the ... moreThere's no official answer to this question. However, I have 2 speculations:
                                      1. They have put all their latest technologies into this phone. Titan glasses, Meizu S1 chip, infinity build process, etc. Whether you think it's worth the additional price is another story, at least I don't think it's worth it.
                                      2. They intend to bundle it with their Lynk & Co 08 electric car. It's very likely that you will be able to get a Meizu 20 Infinity for free when you place an order for Lynk & Co 08.

It's also possible that they only announce the Infinity version to showcase that they are able to build it instead of having the intention to put it into mass production. As of right now there's still no official launch date for this phone so we'll see how it goes.

Still no weather sealing in 2023? Meizu, wake up!
