considering that the A100 runs on Android 4.0 and carries just 512MB RAM. does its get too slow if you run more than three applications??

    The flash is available but dosent work really well
    even the 5mp camera is very low as compared to 5mp of samsung Galaxy
    if you need a good camera dont go for this phone

      it has been a week now that i own this canvas launched by micromax let me tell u guyz its really awesome , now that many have posted their views & said it all , i'll directly step to the pros & cons :-

      PROS :-

      1) based on ANDROID 4.04 ICS platform ( so now no
      need to upgrade that micromax has given a direct
      hit to ICS )
      2) a) 5" & 5 multi touch capacitive touch screen (
      wud mention here that it works smooth as butter)
      b) the colors : yess ! as the brands name says
      (CANVAS) it really has eye capturing 16 M colors
      display with great brightness too.
      3) 5 MP rear camera makes you capture more clearer
      images, it has a 0.3 VGA camera on front for
      video calling too which is a + point.
      4) 1ghz single core processor adds more to performance
      & HD gaming.
      5) 512 RAM as the official site claims ( but half of it seems to be locked for internals while 300 of it is free for use i guess )
      6) Internal memory : 4 GB of internal memory , of which 2 GB can
      be used : i think its more then sufficient as ext mem is expandable to 32 GB.
      7) well it has a dual sim too ,
      8) speakers are not too lout but clear.
      9) & connectivity ; works as fast as it can thru WIFI , the stock browser is good not the best , but then there is Opera
      & chrome that can be downloaded thru the app market.
      10) lat but not the least : Battery life : GUYZ this canvas is
      gifted with a load of 2000 mAh Battery , which gives awesome 5 hrs of talktime & 180 Hrs of talktime , from morning i played games , watched HD videos , browsed for 4 Hrs & still my battery was drained only to 50 % until night.

      Now lets come to some cons & get disappointed :-

      1) 3.5 MM a**-hole jack { guyz i mean it }
      a) Micromax claims here that it has a 3.5 MM universal jack though its a 3.5 MM jack i am unable to connect my sennheiser headphones/or external speakers to the mobile ( it pops out as soon as i connect them , this jack cant connect headphones having 3.5 MM universal jack . so guyz please dont buy this one if you are planning touse it as your music player ...its a total disappointment. :'(
      b) the stock earphones are very cheap , & it has a bit long 3.5 mm jack which easily connects it to the mobile.
      2) cant use the whole of 512 RAM , guyz if its a 1ghz processor then we aught to have at-least 512 of RAM , but 312 of RAM also works fine
      3) a bit big then other handsets , but no worries i got used to
      it in couple of days.

      so here u see , it has 10 Pros & only 3 CONS ..9/10 is my rating ...wud've given it a 10/10 if provided with a perfect 3.5 MM jack ....SO MUSIC LOVERS BEWARE ,others grab it..the awesomeness is here ..n waiting for u :)

      a very first android device on ICS to give such awesome specification only in the range of 10 K ....cheers

Some play on the default browser and some will ask you to choose which player you want it to play on (choice betweeen MX video player(I installed it( or Default media player(comes pre-installed)).....The video quality is stutter free and lag free as long as the connection is fast enough. ( I was using 2mbps on wifi). However 720p videos lag a bit here and there(I am not talking about embedded flash videos). Generally 720p playback is a bit below expectations. So if you intend to watch movies on your device make sure your source is 480p.

Micromax a100 is not a phone... moreBoss please install skyfire browser and check whether streaming flash videos are playing or not if u dont know about this I will tell u first go to playstore and search for skyfire browser if its not there go to phones browser and search and download then install it now open skyfire browser and go to flash embedded video sites there will be a video toolbar on the browser when u touch it a pop-up will come and again touch on it then the video will run

              guys.. it's a phone which we were waiting for... it has everything in terms of advance technology and something else which has attracted me and many people as well that is 5" touch screen.. i bought dis handset 2 days back and exploring this giant machine in mobile world.
              awesome touch experience with swift flow of things.applications are running so smooth..mind blowing sound clarity and pictures.5 mega pixels with led flash.. not bad haan... to be on top having ICS(4.0.4) as operating system makes it incomparable with any other makers at this price.i am loving this phone.one must buy.

                          1. Application doesnt stuck or Hang.

                          2. Phone doesnt Hang.
                          3. Battery Life is good. If you use Internet i ll last a long for 6 Hrs. For music ..12 Hrs. Only Call. atleast 2 Days +

                          4. Battery takes 4hrs 10min to get Charged on Switched off Mode

                          5. Screen guard is already there on screen. So No need to purchase it.

                          6. It is Fast and Touch is awesome.
                          7. Wifi Works like a Rocket. I installed 11 MB app in
                          13 Seconds (*Depends on Speed of Network). 2G Network also work fine. 3G I havent used so far.

                          8. Camera and Video Quality is Good specly in Daylight. In Night it is ok.

                          9. Photo Editor (Inbuilt App) is Awesome. you can edit you pic and make it superb with so many effects and edit tools

                          10 Phone Network is Good.

                          11 Chargers Cord is not lengty. So you have to charge ur phone near the Socket. :)

                          12 Earphone Looks dosnt good. though i havent used it. and if you using any good quality Earphone/headphone then pin it up perfectly. means Push it completely in to the jack.

                          13 Cover and Pouch is still not in the market. Later it be available for sure. Though I managed to buy a one but tht is not for this set.. I just managed with it :)

                          14. I bought it at 9,999/- but the actual cost is 9799/- and now it is on shortage in the market (East Delhi) so price may differ. u may get it in lower or higher price...depend on Handset Availablity in the market.

                          15. So far It is working fine.
                          16. Design of phone is excellent.
                          17. All Functions are doing great.

                          I Am Happy to Have it :)

                                So you can rely on it. After sales is also good as per my previous Micromax Handset experience.
