I ordered a micromax A110 canvas 2 mobile on flipkart on the 7th of december 2012, got it delivered on 10th december 2012. Initially the phone worked fine but on 12th december 2012, i got a technical problem with the mobile. When i insert a sim card in the mobile it is switching off automatically and is getting switched on immediately. And this is repeating itself. The phone is showing the home screen for only approximately 10 seconds and then is again getting switched off and on. but when i am not using any sim card the mobile is on and is working. I am totally confused about this condition. I hope to get your support immediately in this issue.

Solution for Micromax A110 GPS Problem

Hi. This is my first post. Have been using Micromax A110 for more than 3 weeks now. I love this phone but for the fact that it gave me incessant GPS problems whenever I tried to use the GPS option.
Tried downloading EPO files for hours together. But nothing happened. It was quite frustrating as I did not manage to get even one GPS lock even after persevering for more than 3 weeks.
Read on the net that many had returned the phone due to the GPS problem. I read a lot about GPS problems with various models and found that GPS problems were inherent with ICS.
Then, I came across a free app called GPS Fix. Read quite a lot of good reviews abt it. Using it got a GPS Lock for the very first time on my MMX A110. Now the GPS works like a charm. I wanted to share with you guys who face similar GPS issues on MMX A110, the workaround that I tried.
Here it is for you…………………….:-)
a. Go to Google Play Store and download GPS Fix which is absolutely free (If there is an option for me to donate, I would readily do it for the developer!). The link is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidlab.gpsfix
b. Once you have installed this app you are good to go.
c. Now, since I live in Chennai n the beach is very close to my place I visit the Elliot’s Beach daily in the evenings. That’s when I tried and got the GPS Lock yesterday.
d. If you do not have a beach close by where you live, you can find some open space like terrace of your house or apartment where there is no tree cover and the line of sight btw you and the satellite is clear.
e. Now, when you are in an open space, switch on the 3G connection first. You must see the H symbol clearly on the 3G enabled SIM.
f. Now go to settings from your notification bar and then – Location Sservices. In Location Services, enable – Google’s Location Service – Enable GPS Satellites – Enable EPO assistance (Do not try changing the EPO Settings) – Enable A-GPS (Do not try changing the A-GPS Settings) – Enable Location & Google Search.
g. Once this is done, go to GPS Fix app and touch Start Fixing icon. Wait for 3-5 mins. You should get a GPS lock within this time. If the sky is quite overcast, it might take some more time. Patience is the key here.
h. Once all the satellites in the App show up, you will get a notification saying GPS Locked. Don’t get too excited. Wait for 10-20 seconds for the signal to stabilize.
i. Now press the location icon in the App which will take you to Google Maps with the GPS Lock intact.
j. You can do whatever you want with the maps, navigation or locale now
k. Only the first GPS Lock takes time. I am getting 5-6 seconds GPS Lock there after.
This should work for most of you with GPS problems in MMX A110. But, please note that, getting a GPS signal while inside ur house, office building etc. can be quite tricky. Leave alone MMX A110, Tried couple of other big branded phone’s GPS to get a fix while inside my house and office. No luck till now. So let’s spare MMX.
But all said, the inbuilt GPS in MMX A110 is quite weak compared to other MMX phones. My wife uses a MMX A52, where GPS Lock is almost instantaneous and seamless whenever I tried.
But this should solve the GPS problem faced by most of us. But we must keep in mind one thing. MMX A110 is not a dedicated GPS unit. It’s a phone which has GPS functions.
Do let me know if you find this work around good or otherwise.

guys there is new software version released for A110, following are the improvement:
- Dial pad bug fixed
- Auto rotation sensor bit improved
- internal memory now increased to 1.58 gb & rest is internal card 1.12 gb
- now u can install apps in external memory card default.
- other performance improvement.
go and get it from mircomax ftp server & flash.

Yes, it does support HD videos via third party players. Moreover, the 5 inch is screen is what you may be stunned at. Excellent response to the touch, and full 5 inches usable. Go ahead, don't think twice about buying. Stocks are getting over everywhere in no time. So go ahead, and get your one. Congratulations.

Nick, 12 Dec 2012Can 512 mb ram be changed to 1gb and if it can be done then how?Wish it were that easy, but no, you can't increase the RAM in a phone. But for most cases, 512MB should be sufficient.
