This is a good phone to use and will work for all your purpose as you have mentioned . I am personally using Skype , mails and other featurs on regaular basis on this phone which works smooth after JB update and there is absolutely no issue as I am using this for last 10 month.
But would like to suggest on one thing that istead of this why dont you go for Micromax Canvas 2 plus (Micromax Canvas 2 A110 Q ) as it has quad core and 1 GB ram and just a RS700-RS1000 higher in value in comparison with Micromax Canvas 2 (Canvas A110) .

I have been using this phone for about an year!! all excellent till now, it has fallen many times has dents, scratches still running smooth!
The touch, sound, call quality, camera, build quality all has been superb till now.
I didnt had a chance to visit service center so I cant really say about MMX's post sales service ;)
Its worth every penny :)

Root this device to reveal the real "Beast" within...
update it to Jelly bean Custom rom...
use XR640 Rom and it is buttery smooth...
usee RAM Booster, keep the setting to boost ram every time you unlock...
all games work fantastic with great graphix.
use app back up and restore (so you can back up your apps) so if you format also you can just install all apps back...
use MX player...
Use Skull Candy headphones with it for that amazing sound quality...
So now get a power and style packed phone for just 10,000/-

dont purchase canvas2 because there is lot of problem with canvas2 like charging disturbence speaker problem and one big thing service centre not working properly
