Hi friends,
I was a happy user of MMX Canvas HD for last Four & half months. But now my touch screen is not working. It started after installing our National flag live wallpaper on 14/08/2013.
Now i am not able to use my phone as touch is not working at all. After pressing power key, the screen gets ON but touch is not responding. I am unable to unlock the phone. I have done everything - rebooting, switching OFF & ON, removing battery but its in vain. (Screen stopped responding gradually so I was able to operate is sometimes after trying a lot). Can anybody tell how to reset it to factory settings using physical keys? I want to try for last as I am avoiding to visit Service center reading the way people get response from the same.
Waiting for help from someone so that I will be able to use this awesome phone again.

Ok NOOBS, i'll say this once so listen carefully!!
I bought this phone when it was first released, and now it is almost 4 months with me here in DUBAI. Even though my phone has warranty, there is NO MMX service centers in Dubai but I still bought it because of excellent price for the specifications.
I put a 32 GB SD card in my phone, I have rooted my phone, manually updated to 4.2.1 through XDA. Till date I have NOT faced any problem. I like the build quality, it is quite good with premium looks IMO. My friends often mistake my phone for S3 and then they're shocked when I say its MMX. The screen is that good!
Since I have rooted my phone (XDA), I am able to do many stuff on my phone, like waving my hand to answer calls just like in S4 (app name AIR CALL). I even have LWP, and my battery lasts for at least one day with 3G and wifi activated all day. I have customized ringtones, but for that you will have to put that tune/mp3 in the ringtones folder (for rooted phones).
Many people are complaining about the camera, but strangely I find it very good. The only drawback is the low intensity camera flash. You have to change a few settings (set ISO to 1600) that suit you and pictures come out amazing. Make the best of what is available. Its not the car, but the driver who is in control!!
I am able to play heavy games like NFS Most Wanted and Real Racing 3 smoothly on my phone, so the hardware is capable enough. Antutu benchmark score is around 12799, which is excellent IMO. I dont face any lags and I am able to do all work possible on other high end phones. GPS took a long time before, but then I found a fix in XDA and now it only takes 10 sec to lock coordinates.
Last but not the least, the phone is comfortable to hold in the hand and I have medium sized hands. Its also the right weight, so it feels good to hold. I love the HD screen. My phone reboots in 34 seconds exactly consistently and my phone is full of apps and movies and songs. Oh yeah, I even increased the volume levels on my phone (check XDA), so the volume is loud and clear.
I live in Dubai and there is no MMX center here. But I feel good about the performance till now and hopefully will not need the services of a MMX center. It is an electronic device, it can last years and years or even die in one minute. It is the same with any other brand, and many people buy phones without warranty!
I am disappointed with TWO things: the headphones that comes in the box has very clear sounds, but other headphones does not seem compatible. I think you need to look for specific kind of headphones that is compatible with the phone. Plus there are no accessories (mobile covers) available, and that is mainly because I live in Dubai and the phone is still not released here. MMX is not well known here, but I still get looks from my friends who carry S4, HTC One and BB Q10. They think of it as equal to their phones, but my phone cost me at 50% less!

Deepak, 17 Aug 2013How can we transfer my data/ apps on my SD card? can u sugg... morehye my friend ... i want to suggest you that this phone support move apps to external memory card... if u like to move before download "link2sd" download on google play store in letest version and open it then click to top first option and select all apps and move to easily then click more and quick reboot ...
now u can install all apps in your memory card.

Its been more than 3 months I bought Micromax A116 now. I am a software engineer by nature. I lean android using this phone in ubuntu (linux). A tall friend jumped on my phone in the basketball court, a lock fell on the screen, and I have dropped this couple of times, it has been wet for a few times as well. But say what, It never have ever hung up or freezed for a single time I bought. ANd the performance/response is faster in all apps including games. My friend bought nexus, he has been to the repair center already. His phone keeps hanging. And other friend has galaxy grand, when I look at his screen, I miss the details of graphics and response of my phone. MicroMax A116 (Canvas HD) simply rocks! :D

Hi,
I lave got a Micromax A116 last week. I am not able to connect internet through sim data. When i am activating the data connection by pressing icon, the icon gets hilighted but the data connection symbol/icon did not appear on the status bar of phone.
Same time I tried to open web page but again it did not opened and message appeare "webpage not available"
Since wifi is working properly.
I updated the operating system to Jelly Bean 4.2.1 from 4.1.1 but problem hasnot been resolved.
Kindly help me if anybody aware with this problem.

The mobile is awsome.but service centre are worse like anything.i never feel like before in micromax service center.its very pooooooooor.in bangalore micromax service centre is like hell only.they keep min 1 month.but they will not repair praoprly.

Bought this phone yesterday , and i only have 1 line to say :
AWESOME PHONE IN ITS PRICE - NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
PROS :
1. Excellent Build quality.
LOOKS AWESOME, Specially the rubberized cum plastic back.
2. Excellent Features, ( I own as Galaxy s4 as well, which has gone for repairs, so i had to buy this phone for the time being). I am not missing my S4 .
3. All the things you can imagine in a TOP END PHONE.
4. Excellent Screen and display.
CONS :
1. Camera Picture quality ( Mediocker , not that good, even though its a 8 mega pixe)
2. NO CUSTOMISED RINGTONES ( Only able to chose default ringtones, so forget about songs as your tones)
3. Wallpapers ( You cannot set a customised wallpaper, because it stretches and looks horrible, so be happy with the stock wallpapers)
4. The screen lacks the feel of phones manufactured by SAMSUNG, SONY, The screen looks clearly of a CHINESE PHONE.
Rest everything was GOOD , Good battery life,
i hope this helps, somebody out there.
