Hello everyone, i have purchased Micromax A116 Canvas HD on 1st June and i have heard that Android 4.2.1 update is available for it. Here are some questions which i would like to be answered in detailed information.
1. Does the update enhance the color reproduction of Canvas HD? In Android 4.1.2, colors are washed out in Canvas HD and it can be noticed while playing a video.
2. What are the new features included in Android 4.2.1 update for Canvas HD? Do we have notification toggles after the update?
3. What about picture quality after the Android 4.2.1 update and what sizes the pictures are taken at full resolution?
4. Does the update fix bugs like GPS issue, signal reception?
5. What is Daydream mode?
6. How about the user experience after the update?
7. Whenever i switch on my Canvas HD with SIM card inserted, my phone says Unfortunately, something(don't remember what it is exactly but it is something related to network services). Anyone facing this issue?
8. Whenever the battery reaches 30%, it straightly goes to 15% after 2-3 minutes of playing a game or taking a picture. Is it solved in Android 4.2.1 update?
9. Can i install apps to SD card after the update? Big games gets installed in SD card along with data or not after the update?
10. Last but not the least, i have heard that there's Over-the-air functionality after the update, so does that mean we will be getting Android 4.3 and some features of Canvas 4?
I'm about to update my Canvas HD soon whether by myself or by the service center, so please answer my questions in a detailed way. Thanks a lot..

ya its really user friendly and cool to work,i didnt even get anymore problems n tis mob,i really love it and have it..,my opinion is alwys max itss micromaxx:-)

Akshay007, 29 Jul 2013In morning i charge my battery every day with full charging... morei think u did not get me correctly, i didn't tell u to charge ur battery fully, u just charge it from 10 % to 90 % and then plug it off. see the result best of luck. but you should charge ur battery fully from 15% to 100% once in a month for ur battery longevity.

I would. like to buy this phone bt after going through most of the opinions in the review im hesitate to buy. bt I want to know the truth frm well expert user both in terms of software and hardware. I need an answer regarding 1.why it keeps on crushing.if it happens what should I do. 2.can I install software applications in Sd memory. 3.why there is a problem in speaker. 4. is. it true that the quality of camera 8 mp is low as compared to other brand having the same mp?
my purpose to buy this Micromax A116 hd is specially for internet browsing, installing good software for educational purpose, watching videos and listening music.Not for playing games. SO PLIZ HELP ME WITH A REALISTIC REASON. if its helpful I wanna buy within tis week. thnx

1) go to settings
2) open 'more' option.
3) open mobile networks.
4) open Access point names
5) select Vodafone GPRS
now u can register ur number with Whatsapp.

Let me tell you this is the worst phone I have ever used in my life..just count the demerits of this useless phone i am going to write here.
On the first few months it worked well and the user would be happy that it was worth buying
Then you start to face this problems for which you may even want to throw it away sometime
first and foremost
1. It is dead slow.Even just installing a few apps,it starts to hang. And the RAM and internal storage is so less that even if you uninstall those apps still its memory isnt sufficient to run the phone smoothly. Even when you want to call somebody you may have to even to wait for a minute for the contacts to be displayed which is totally frustating.
2. The camera quality is too bad. I have never taken a good snapshot with this phone. And I wonder why the company has given a flash button. My keyring gives better white light then it.
3. A layer on the top of the screen has become unresponsive for which i cant operate on that layer of screen.
4. The unlock key didnt work suddenly. I had to take it to the service center.
5. Not to speak of the service centre of Micromax is the worst of all existing brands in the market.They have neither the expertise nor the solutions. They just make you run for it for a month.
6. The speaker at the back initially was good but as it is from micromax it was doomed to give that worse noise.
7. The battery quality is also poor.
I dont think there is any feature of this phone that I can categorise as a merit.
These were the issues. People but these phones just when they see these brands give good features at a much affordable price but they dont realise the quality of the equipments used to manufacture this phone and finally turn up throwing the phone.
So mobile lovers dont go for these brands. Buy a decent brand may be with less features but durable ones.You will be satisfied.

user, 27 Jul 2013well ....i ve used galaxy grand n a116 hd ...surely hd is b... moreYes u can root it or just upgrade it .... To 4.2 with tht use class 10sd card tht will help to play all heavy games .... Im playing real football 2013 .. And iron man kind of games which are quite heavy ...

Some apps are decided by system i guess that they wont go to external sd ... Bt heavy games go directly to external sd ... Otherwise u go to settings>apps>external sd there is chck box option available some apps which are installed in phone storage can bebe moved to external sd .... I guess it helped u little bit ...
