The Micromax A116 Canvas HD runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (with a 4.2 update to come),
packs an 8MP main camera and VGA front-facing camera and has 4GB of built-in storage (plus a microSD card slot).
Connectivity is handled by 3G GSM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. The battery capacity is 2,100mAh
The 5" screen is a marked improvement over the A110 – the new model has 294ppi pixel density, up from 196ppi.
The chipset is a big step forward too, the MediaTek MT6589 packs a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU at 1.2GHz,
1GB of RAM and the PowerVR Series 5XT GPU

I already own an S2, but would like this one too! Stock Android for 15k is pretty damn good. Looks good too. The MediaTek doesn't inspire much in terms of performance hopes, but the PowerVR isn't too bad a deal. Looking forward to it.

we must promote the company like MMX,Karbon for bringing the latest like quad core IPS hd display etc, It will force the companies like sony,samsung bring products in reasonable price. I want to mention one example here when hero honda was ruling the indian market and bringing no new features bajaj set the trend with digi console, nitrox ,tubeless tires and now all companies has started implementing these standards at that time it was Japanese Vs Indian(Bajaj) and now its Korean Vs Indian (MMX). Great work MMX now don't look behind bring as much similar products like this we will be delighted to watch success of an Indian company. Those who said its chinese I want to say change you spectacles number and watch closely your sony,samsung mobile boxes where you find where its made

Wait ..two renowned chinese mobile companies JIYAYU and UMI goinng to launch their quadcore phones from 9000 rs INR to 12000rs/INR by feb end.JIYAYU G4-quadcore,2gb ram,1280*720p screen,13 MEGAPIXEL camera,3 MEGAPIXEL FRONT camera,gorilla glass,32 GB inbuilt memory.UMI X2 has same specification but with 1080pscreen.Both these phones will give stiff competition to micromax HD ...

It's just an amazing phone of India by Indian brand Micromax. We should proud of it. If anybody can hit samsung then it will be mmx from ur country.

8MP & secondary VGA!!! Are you kidding? Even quad-core & jelly bean, so poor! My Xperia SL has 12MP & 1.3MP secondary just dual-core, I don't think it's suitable!

Nice phone which suits your need. Camera is not so good but still satisfied with your requirements. Processes is damn good and the look is so so. So at the end you can buy Micromax A116 (HD) is awesome for as per your personality and budget.
