Micromax announces India smartphone comeback with upcoming “in” series

Michail, 16 October 2020

Not too long ago Micromax stood as the second smartphone player in India, but cut-throat competition from Chinese brands quickly evaporated its position and chased it out. Fast forward to today and Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma announced the company is planning a comeback with a new “in” series of smartphones.

No further details were officially revealed but an interesting Geekbench listing gives us a possible look at the first device from the new Micromax range. The Micromax in 1A will be powered by the Helio P35 chipset with 4GB RAM and run Android 10. It managed 903 points in the single-core test and 4,326 in the multi-core department.

Keep in mind that this is a Geekbench 4 listing and scores cannot be cross-referenced with Geekbench 5 results. We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for more details on Micromax’s re-entry into the smartphone world.

Micromax India were selling Huawei phones in their stores, I bet sales went poorly post ban so now they are back to making their own phones... Unless they will partner with another Chinese brand again later? :S
