Unfortunately I don't know about the sensor itself, however the camera module was much larger compared eg to the 20MP shooter of Lumia 950 and it was only a bit smaller compared to Lumia 1020. It could be that the optics occupied a lot of space,...

This is not 1/1.2 sensor, it resembles more of a normal 20mp sensor you'll find on other Lumias with 20mp sensors. No wonder this got shelved, still is an unfortunate though.
